I just moved to this neighborhood, looking for sushi to go at least weekly, decided to try out Saka mori at Trumo as the menu looks attractive. Been to Trump in Chicago and DC, never had a bad experience in any Trump before.
But this one is the worse I've been.
First, there is no Amaebi and egg white cocktails which is ok. . Second, the scallop and uni wasn't fresh.
Third, the Omakase Nigiri. You can see it on the photos what kind of sashimi they are offering and the uni is sink. I couldn't even finish half of the set. Is worse than sushi in Metro station in Hong Kong or 7-eleven sushi in Tokyo. Normal omakase in neighborhood kind of restaurant, I didn't wishful expecting Japanese snapper, golden eye snapper, shima aji, ark shell etc...just wanted a respectable sushi. Totally disappointed. Had to go to Tako sushi afterwards to heal my taste bud.
Also,The A5 Wagyu is not A5 at all. Not even any Wagyu, almost choked me. Far from melting in the mouth.
I need to asked for water at the end of the meal. They never given me one.

Read moreYikes! That is all I have to say about this Japanese restaurant. Me and my wife were excited to eat here until we realized how the service was going to be. First we eagerly awaited our cocktails. Unfortunately one had too much alcohol to notice any taste of lychee. Then we ordered our plates and were saddened by the blandness of the soft shell crab and rainbow roll, as well as crunching into shells in the roll itself. Also the burnt wagyu and essentially no vegetables in the fried rice that accompanied the wagyu made for a very unsatisfying experience here unfortunately. Also do not fret about the tip because the 20% service fee is included in the bill, which to me did not make the service seem an ounce of regret or obligation to help make the experience better for us. It saddens me to write a review like this about a style of food I have grown up on and loved for over half my life, and to especially have this experience at what I thought was a high class...
Read moreIf you have a dietary requirement ( in my case Celiac disease ) you are going to be rolling the dice here. My server did not know anything about ( seemingly anything honestly ) and certainly nothing about Gluten Free or Celiac. How is it possible in 2023 for a food server to not know anything related to dietary issues !? And better yet, get visibly angry when I was asking ? Our server was terrible. He made it very clear he didn't want to be there and hated his job. He forgot to put in my order so I got to sit there watching others eat while waiting ( far too long ) for my order to get placed. The manager did take 20% off the bill so thanks for that but our experience here was literally the worst experience of our entire 7...
