This cute cafe is located in the small strip mall right next to Hankook Supermarket, so while parking may be a pain in the rear on weekends, there were plenty of spaces on a weekday after work. It's clean, understated, earth-toned decor is really refreshing and relaxing, and the cafe is quite clean (even the women's bathroom is clean and has a ottoman-style piece of furniture where you can put your purse/bag, etc.). I had a hot green tea latte which, while on the pricey side ($4.75 for an small-sized cup), was impressively intense on flavor and used real matcha. It was also perfectly sweetened -- just light, neither cloyingly sweet nor bitter. Matcha is one of my favorite latte/drink flavors, but it's always risky because many places artificial flavoring which can taste rather terrible. I was impressed by this one.
The walnut pastries were also quite good. They are sort of like bite-sized taiyaki - sweet red bean paste covered with a sweet dough covering, but inside there is also a big chunk of walnut. It's a brilliant combination with the sweet red bean paste, to give it a little earthier and less sweet flavor. And they come in single-serving little paper wrappings, so can be easily shared with friends.
There are also other menu options that I haven't tried yet: shaved ice, iced teas, coffees, and other stuff. I will definitely be back for the walnut pastries and green tea...
Read moreWhat a huge disappointment we faced today! We arrived for dessert, completely within their open hours, only to be told they couldn't make waffles because the kitchen was already "cleaned" and closed. Are you kidding me? How can you be open and then say you can't cook anything because you've cleaned up early? This is just plain wrong and incredibly unprofessional. "Open" means you're ready for customers!
Then, when I asked for the name of the staff member (a girl with distinct pink-dyed hair, seemingly temporary over blonde) she refused to tell me. It was clear she knew she was behaving badly and didn't want to be reported. This person is definitely hurting their business, and her attitude makes the whole place look bad.
It's so frustrating to drive over 30 minutes, looking forward to a treat, only to be told such a ridiculous excuse for not serving us. I really hope the owner gets this message and does something about it. no one should have to deal with this kind of terrible service. Their customer service was a...
Read moreDespite the delicious food, customer service at this location had failed us miserably. We ordered a combo. Employee at the counter later said combo is ready, we pick it up. We start eating it, soon realize that the cookies are not the flavor we ordered. Okay, we go to the counter, and turned out that we took the wrong order. How could we have known, there was no number called just the word "combo". We couldn't see what was inside. We returned the wrong order, and waited for ours. When our correct order came out the employee told us that she took two out because we ate them from the other order. As we continue to question that decision due to the reasons above the employee tells us that it is our fault. Is it our fault that we took an order that looked, and was announced identically the same as our actual order would have been? Never have we been in a business, big or small, that blamed the customer for a mistake clearly made by the staff. Incident occurred on 3/14/19 at...
