My friend and decided to have dinner there. Tokyo sushi is one of my favorite sushi places to eat in Saint Louis, but not after tonight. We walked in and place order of shushi rolls . I was helping my friend to fill out application. We ate sushi it'a about 8:35-8:40 p.m. Adana (my daughter) asked for miso soup, I place the order , when it came it was very hot so she was waiting for it cool down. It's 8:48 the waiter comes and tells us "we are closing"(I already paid the bill) I know their Sunday hours are 4:30 to 9:30. Aydana is eating her soup it is 9 o'clock and the lady who is usually at the register comes over and says we are closed you have to leave. I looked at her and said "you are open until 9:30 right? " She replyes back "we have no business we are closing early" I: "but my daughter is still eating" Her: "no she is not" I :"exuse me you are open зntill 9:30 what kind of costumer service is this Her: "its my business I close when I want to" I'm shocked The owner of the restaurant who I met years ago comes out and says "I'm tired you have to leave" my friend and I grabed Aydana and left I have been going there for years and recommending them to my friends and family I can't believe how they treated us tonight . It was a huge disapointment Never again Shame on...
Read moreStop what you’re doing right now, and give this place a try. I’m not even joking, this was the best sushi restaurant I have tried in quite some time. Let me give you the run down on our experience:
My Dad and I have been looking for a good sushi spot for quite some time now. Tokyo Sushi is about a 10 minute drive for both of us, so we decided to stop in for dinner last night. This is a lovely restaurant inside, very clean and lots of comfortable seating.
Our server was phenomenal. He was prompt, attentive, and very friendly. We got started with some Gyoza, and also split a Philly Roll. We also decided to add on some Chicken Fried Rice incase those 2 weren’t sufficient in filling us up. Everything was bursting with flavor and tasted extremely fresh.
The Gyoza were soft and flavorful and the Philly Roll was super light and fresh, but the best item by a long shot was the Chicken Fried Rice. It tasted like something a luxury hibachi restaurant would whip up. The chicken was nice and crispy and the rice was browned and salty like it should be.
We will be back SOON to try more delicious menu items. Can’t believe this place has been flying under our radar...
Read moreI want to start of by saying me and my wife come here pretty often and after this experience will never be back. We came in ate our food and when it came to pay the bill we saw there was a gratuity charge already applied to the bill which was fine but different so I asked the waiter when they started to charge gratuity to the bill he proceeded to tell me that me and my wife didnt pay him a tip last time and we need to tip 15% to take care of the waiter. I asked him what he was talking about we always tip him cash for the tip every single time we have ever come there he says ohh no you didn’t last time you sat by the window and didn’t tip me anything. Me and my wife never sat by the window in all the times we have come there. I told him that he has us confused with someone else we never sat at that window and then he proceeded to make a stupid face and say ohh maybe I have you confused with someone else but either way you should pay 15% tip. Are you freakin kidding me after being accused of not tipping and how rude this man was he still wanted a tip. Wow, I would never recommend anyone to go here will never be back. Horrible...
