A Joyful Gem of Tacoma - Farrelli's Pizza
It's an absolute delight to share my experience at Farrelli's Pizza in Tacoma, a destination that combines flavorful food and fun in equal measure. The phrase "a feast for the senses" is all too fitting when describing this extraordinary establishment.
The core of any pizzeria is, of course, its pizza, and Farrelli's knocks it out of the park. The dough is a testament to culinary craft - perfectly crispy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside. The selection of fresh ingredients generously topping their pizzas offer a wide variety of tantalizing combinations, creating a harmonious balance of flavors that cater to every palette. Every bite you take is a clear demonstration of the establishment's commitment to quality and freshness.
What caught my attention was their Margherita pizza, a traditional Italian favorite prepared with an artisanal touch. The simplicity of the ingredients—ripe tomatoes, fresh basil, and creamy mozzarella cheese—allows the individual flavors to shine through. They come together in a superb symphony of taste, harmonizing beautifully with the tangy, handcrafted tomato sauce and the tender, chewy crust. The pizzas at Farrelli's do not just satiate hunger; they create memories.
As for the ambience, the phrase "casual comfort" perfectly describes Farrelli's atmosphere. This is a place where every detail has been thoughtfully considered, from the ambient lighting to the comfortable seating arrangements. The staff are friendly and attentive, always ensuring a welcoming and satisfying dining experience. The vibrant energy within the restaurant is truly contagious and adds to the overall enjoyment of your meal.
One standout aspect of Farrelli's is their trivia nights. They perfectly exemplify the saying, "the more, the merrier." These trivia nights encourage patrons to interact, laugh, and think, fostering a sense of community among those present. Engaging in this light-hearted competition while savoring delicious pizza adds a unique layer of fun to the evening. This combination of tasty food and trivia games works incredibly well, making Farrelli's a go-to spot for a night of relaxation and entertainment.
In conclusion, Farrelli's Pizza in Tacoma is a local gem that excels in providing a rich, multi-faceted dining experience. The delectable pizzas served with a side of fun trivia create an ambiance that is perfect for a memorable evening out. Whether you're a local or a visitor, do yourself a favor and make a pit-stop at Farrelli's. Trust me, your taste buds and your brain...
Read moreI have been coming to Farrelli's since 2016, and had a membership there since 2018. I regularly hold monthly meetings there and often go there just to socialize with friends.
Yesterday I met up with someone, had a few beers over the course of several hours and then ordered a pizza to take home. I was singularly disappointed upon arriving home. Don't get me wrong, the pizza was good, but there was a complete scarcity of ingredients. I had ordered Italian Sausage and Mushrooms, which is my go-to order. Most of what was there was concentrated in the center of the pizza, with about 60 or 70% of the outer part of the pizza virtually devoid of toppings.
I've noticed this to be the trend over the years, that the toppings on the pizzas I order (especially when I order a large) seem to barely have anything on them. This certainly doesn't line up with your on-line pictures which show the pizza covered end to end in toppings.
I would think that there's a standard recipe for applying toppings and in what amount, so if this is the case, I'm led to wonder why Farrelli's has chosen to be so stingy of late.
With tax this was a $42 pizza. Considering it had hardly any mushrooms or sausage on it, I feel like I just bought a $42 piece of flat bread with tomato sauce on it.
My four-star review is that to date, my experience at Farrelli's has been great with respect to staff, service, and cleanliness. But that makes me all the more disappointed with my experience yesterday.
I would have preferred to write the manager directly instead of leaving this review, but the web-site provided no mechanism for doing so.
I'll be giving the restaurant at least one more try, but if the trend continues, then I'll be moving my monthly meetings to...
Read moreGosh I hate leaving negative reviews. Had the sheet pan nachos, they were not overpriced, my wife liked them, but to me they were disappointing. My guess is they are made in the same oven the pizzas are baked in which is probably too hot for the chips, which were very bland, and so the chips were bland and many of them were also burnt. Maybe you like them way, I did not. The waitress asked if we wanted guacamole, I like guacamole so I said sure. Second disappointment. It came in a small plastic cup so was an underwhelming amount for $3 and was also not very good in addition to being a very poor presentation. My guess is they're done up ahead of time like that for efficiency purposes. Still, it made me feel cheated to be charged $3 for basically a small plastic cup of mashed overripe avocado. The interior there at the 6th Ave location is need of new seat cushioning in the booth we sat in and overall felt cramped trying to get to the restroom which is outside of the actually Farelli's business and apparently shared by other businesses in the back. Ruston is much nicer and i think in the future I'll try to stay with their pizza which looked really...
