Metro Coffee — Restaurant in Tacoma

A quaint little coffee shop on the UWT stairs this establishment is unlike any other in the area. Upon walking in to the coffee shop one will notice warm earthy walls, local artist on display, bicycles, and a unicycle hanging in various locations. The owner makes an effort to talk to each customer aside from the usual "What can I make for you today?" The coffee is amazing, and they serve various pastries and teas as well. Sorry to say, I had high hopes based on the reviews and I was very disappointed by this place. The place had a stench of dog urine. Furniture was really bad, like chairs with chewed up handles. The dining tables were not bad. They were clean to sit on. I regret ordering a pastry because it felt like a lump of dough. I had to leave within 10 minutes because I couldn't stand the smell. I've got a system for testing coffee at places: order an Americano, no sugar, no cream, nothing. Metro passed this test with flying colors.
