The Buried Bottle — Restaurant in Tacoma

I asked my wife to extend our trip - I was in Washington for a competition - just so we could go to this little gem I'd found online, and it did not disappoint. This is the perfect little place tucked away in the city. The owners' mom was working that evening and she is a total delight. Very knowledgeable about wine and very welcoming. The wine list/flight that evening was also great. I was very surprised at the quality of the wines they curated, because none of them were particularly expensive. They also had a number of wines that were pretty unique. We even ended up figuring out how to stash 5 bottles into our checked luggage because we couldn't go home without them! Thanks for creating such a wonderful place to visit, relax, and enjoy tasting a bunch of different (and delicious) wines. If I lived in the area, I'd be at this place ALL the time, so... it's probably actually better that I don't live here😉 Any future trips to the area will surely mean my return to this awesome establishment. This is one of our regular stops in Tacoma, and we just had the privilege of working with Aly and Chris to celebrate my spouse's birthday at their wonderful shop.

We always love popping in for a tasting or a glass -- their curation skills are fantastic and they always have amazing suggestions for the most specific circumstances.

When planning the birthday party, Aly and Chris were very creative and accommodating of our requests. We did a sequenced wine tasting with about 25 guests where they sourced wine's from meaningful areas in my spouse's life -- it could not have been smoother in the planning process and the event was amazing.

I cannot recommend them enough for your everyday bottle or sips, and for their great event...

My co-workers arranged my surprise retirement celebration at The Buried Bottle this past week. I had the most amazing time. The space was so warm, friendly and inviting. Alyssa one of the owners, I didn't get a chance to meet her other half, is the most amazing host. She took her time explaining the wines, I am by far NOT a wine connoisseur, and was so friendly and made us all feel right at home. Thank you for allowing our little party to hang out and enjoy your lovely space. I live in Vancouver and will do my best to try and make it back up to Tacoma.
