Sorry Reviews here are Wrong... May be good for those who never had this cuisine before and know no better. Raised near Tarpon Spring, I really wanted some good Greek/Mediterranean food and really wanting and hoping it would be good. Starting, the Greek Salad wasn't... Just mix salad with a small amount of feta crumbles (very small). No Greek potatoe salad on bottom and Oil and Vinegar instead of Greek dressing. I order combo (Shawarma Chicken and Gyro Meat).. Chicken was thinking and dry, looked old(honestly, leftover from lunch) definitely nothing like on online menu. Gyro meat was OK but also a bit dry as if pre-slice at lunch and not freshly cut. Worst item was Tzatziki sauce... It was made with onion, to the point you could not taste cucumber.. onion so strong it was bitter. Sides were very un-appitizing .. we had 4 between wife and myself (including Greek Salad).. these were more or less left on table... The Tea was OUTSTANDING! Half Lemonade and Tea with Rosewater... If you want something different, try this place at Lunch. Prices are half (Lunch $8-$12) those if supper and from appearance, fresher food! And it is not real Greek food... FYI Dolmakadia (Stuffed Grape Leaves) can also be found at half price at Whole Leaf Market in this plaza, actually think these may be same as served here. morganfj at...
Read moreMy love and I went to Sahara Cafe from the feed back of a worker from New leaf Market in the same plaza in Tallahassee Florida! We are always looking to try something new. We was told they would serve some awesome greek food which includes many fresh greek meals. Well the young lady customer service was very refreshing. She was very patient and informative when it came to food menu. My love eat meat and I'm vegan! My love ordered a lentil soup and bread. The lentil soup was kind of cold and almost the consistency of baby food , not good at all.I order the grape leaf filled with rice, a greek salad that only contain 2 🫒, 2 slices of tomato, couple ring of red onion. Everything was cold , not season . I never had greek food before but our experience tells me I didn't want to give greek food a second chance at all. They had a signature black tea that we where told was fresh brew from tea 🍃. We was informed that it comes in a package and brew from prepackaged tea bags that are shipped into the restaurant. Because of the not so good experience, my love to me surprised me with a greek restaurant in valdosta ga! The food at Giulios Greek and Italian restaurants. Their food is authentic greek, customer service is vreat, great, seasoned and hot . My love order some lentil soup and it wasn't the consistency...
Read moreI had rated this place quite highly, it has been one of the few restaurants i frequent but something had happened to this place this year, the food had been subpar and very disappointing. I have to downgrade them from 4 to 2 stars.
So I've been twice this month and the experience was on point...in fact today me and my gf went out to lunch to support a locally owned restaurant in these hard times as a restaurant owner I feel what's going on. We called in and were greeted with a thick accent which i found comforting. Being from an Italian family it is in my head that when you hear a thick accent like that be prepared to eat some food made with love and skill, even the simplest grilled cheese sandwich can be made better by a chef whose is passionate about everything he does. We were greeted by the very nice lady and signed the screen with my finger then used my gfs personal hand sanitizer and the woman asked where we found that because she couldn't find any and seemed desperate to find some. My gf gave her the hand sanitizer and she was quite grateful. We arrived at home and were quite happy with the meal. Hands down one of the best gyros I've ever had and their greek fries, clearly hand cut as the thickness was inconsistent but the mix of crispy and softer potato was homey delicious. Keep up the good...
