I’m extremely disappointed in this location. My family and I drove from Atlanta Georgia to this location for dinner. We were in town for the weekend to attend a funeral and wanted a good seafood place to eat. It’s been a year since we eaten at Crafty crab but I wished I would have chosen a different restaurant. We spent damn near over $200 for the worst seafood ever!!!!! The potatoes 🥔, sausage, mussels, and crawfish were over cooked and undercooked. The mussels were extremely over cooked because the meat looked like a small pea.!!! We were exhausted and tired from the long drive all I wanted was a good meal. The manager was unapologetic and after our formal complaint and we showed her the undercooked and overcooked food she agreed and said she would assist with the bill. She gave us a $5.50 discount!!! Which was a slap in the face. The waitress even said we should have went to a different location because they were only Asians working in the back and they didn’t know to cook food. I was flabbergasted 😮 and extremely disappointed. When you have a waitress as well as manager acknowledged that the food isn’t fit to eat, THAT’S A PROBLEM!!!!! I Called a few relatives about this location and they also said this location is horrible and customer service and food has went down the drain. But they did advise the location on Capitol Circle of Tallahassee was better. Ugh!!! I hope management reads this and get this location together. I’m posting this on social media!!! This is ridiculous and extremely disappointing!!!!! My family and I deserve a better experience. I even tip the waitress even though she honestly didn’t deserve a tip because she warned us about the food after we ordered and sat down. They just need to shut this place down and start over!!!...
Read moreNot sure if something changed, but my experience is quite different from others here... Amazing food, yet still way overpriced. I went for lunch, I was served very quickly, the staff were all very friendly. I got a crab leg boil, and perhaps this was my mistake, people seem to have "generous portions" reviews for the basket... For the boil, that is very much not the case. For about $30, I had 3 legs+1 claw, and 2 small potatoes, bigger than golf balls, smaller than tennis balls. That's it, the whole meal. That said, everything was delicious. The waitress told me up front that "hot" was not really hot, and they offered 2x and 4x hot. I asked for regular hot to gauge, and indeed, it was about as hot as Zaxby's Tongue Torched wings, which isn't saying much. For people who don't like spicy food, this is a good thing, there's a good range for you to go up in small notches, but since I love spicy food, I'm a little curious to ask for 4x and see how it goes. Again, I seriously can't overstate, it was really good food, like Angelo's level (in Franklin county). That said, I could get more crab legs for cheaper and with more sides at Crystal River here; or if I really wanted the same level of high quality food, for the same price I could drive out to Angelo's and still get more of it, plus salad and garlic bread. I may go back one more time to compare the basket, but on first blush, this didn't seem worth my time, and/or worth my time to say I tried it once, because it is really good. Their house special cajun seasoning was incredible, and I mixed it with the garlic butter,...
Read moreSo much potential, so much disappointment. After hearing about other locations, we were excited to try this place out. We were told at the door that there was a 45 minute wait (expected for a newly-opened restaurant), however, almost half the tables were vacant. Perhaps they're short staffed?
Waited 10 minutes for our drinks (sweet tea and water, so nothing from the bar), and then we ordered - fried shrimp basket for me and the boiled headless shrimp and crab leg plate for my lady. The food came out quickly, but all had a highly unusual aftertaste - all of it - the fried shrimp, onion rings, crab and boiled shrimp. We felt sick after eating it, just from the aftertaste.
Of note, the fried shrimp basket ($10.99, see picture) was like a child portion. 10 shrimp, mostly breading, onion rings (very bland), no other sides such as hush puppies or bread. I understand that you get what you pay for, and fried shrimp baskets are more expensive elsewhere, but this seriously felt like a kids serving - hardly enough to fill a grown man.
Our server was hardly seen after bringing out the food. We asked when placing the order for garlic butter. It was delivered once we were almost done eating. I asked for salt and pepper (strangely, only half the tables had it). 10 minutes later, received pepper, no salt, with a careless "here you go" from another server who brought it by.
I realize it's a new place, and they're working out all the kinks, but we won't be back to see if...
