I want to start by saying the staff was amazing. I am majorly disappointed by the lack of options, commitment to authenticity, and atmosphere. I normally frequent Persis on Mahan but they closed. I don’t know why - they were amazing. So, I thought I’d try this location since the Capital Circle one isn’t open yet. It was a major disappointment. They didn’t have chicken biryani and tried to recommend some breaded chicken biryani- No! I don’t know what that is, but I don’t go to Indian restaurants to get processed Americanized food product. I like be the bold, rich, and spicy flavors of traditional recipes. The gentleman then recommended goat biryani- which I do like. So, got that and ordered it spicy (a 4 on a 6 scale). It was not spicy at all. It did have a good flavor, just not rich and flavorful. I ordered naan as well. It was not authentic naan, which he warned me about / citing lack of proper space for the right oven. I got it, thinking it would be similar. It was not naan at all, and instead was some kind of thick and soft pita (or something like that). You can call it naan, but naan it is not. The meal was served on paper plates and we were given plasticware instead of flatware. There are only three table in the place. For the price, I expected more. I really hope the location on Capital Circle opens soon. I don’t know Persis would allow their name to go from top tier Indian cuisine to this. I’m sure there is a market. Again, staff was GREAT, the food was okay, the atmosphere...
