My girlfriend and I were walking past Taziki's and the owner invited us in to try the food. The restaurant was closed, but we were allowed to crash the Friend's and Family soft open this past Sunday 10-2-16. The place is new as of this posting, so it is obviously really clean and I won't go into too much detail. The layout of the interior should be familiar with anyone dining at Magnolia Center restaurants as of late, although the soft accents on dark colors help make it feel warm and inviting but still modern with an "on the go" concept so common today. The restaurant staff was friendly and helpful, and the owner John was incredibly polite and gave us a tour of his menu. The menu has many choices, and at many different meal sizes depending on whether you want a fast lunch or a well portioned dinner. We both ordererd the lamb gyro with fruit (diet thoughts in mind!) and chips, and were both ecstatic with our entrees. The lamb is authentic, slow cooked bliss. It was savory, tender, and well spiced. John informed me that the lamb is prepared from scratch every morning, along with the excellent homemade hummus. The taziki (a greek cucumber dressing for those not in the know) that topped the gyro was excellent, a crisp compliment to the perfectly portioned meal. The fruit was sweet and a nice closer to our meal. I would definitely eat there again, and I would tell anyone who enjoys Tallahassee's few but tasty greek/mediterranean restaurants that Taziki's is more than...
Read moreWe have ordered here many times, and have had no major complaints. The last time we ordered before today, I remember getting a not-so enthusiastic vibe from the person on the phone and thinking uhoh. As I recall, our order was right though. However, tonight was a disappointment and that, along with the hope that this is not a trend and that someone will be prodded into action, prompted this review. When my husband went to pick up our order, past the time provided for pick-up, he gave his name and what was ordered, and was told it he would need to wait for it to be prepared. He did and, after leaving, discovered that what was in the bag was not what was ordered. He drove back, and told the staff person the problem. At this point, the employee went back into the computer, found an order that looked like ours, then went back to a bag on the counter and discovered it was our order, but had the wrong name on it. Not wanting to wait any longer, my husband decided to take the order that had been sitting there. When he got home, we realized that the free dessert I had chosen when ordering was not in the bag, in spite of the fact that all the items I had ordered were clearly written on the receipt. We are willing to try again, and hope that this ship...
Read moreI will start by saying I LOVE greek food and was excited to try Taziki's. I had just spent several days in the hospital and was hungry for good, healthy food. I called for a curbside pickup and spoke to Brianna, she was kind and patient with me as I placed my order. An outstanding example of good hospitality. Unfortunately, after returning home with my curbside order, it was incorrect. I had ordered a lamb gyro, extra taziki sauce, no chips and roasted potatoes as my side. I also order the "Greek" chicken soup. My lamb gyro was a not lamb, it was beef. Had I known they would be giving me beef I would have requested the horseradish sauce. I didn't want beef, I wanted the traditional lamb gyro. The soup was a huge disappointment as well. Traditional Greek chicken soup known as Avgolemono with a creamy lemon egg base is what I expected. The soup I got was just plain old chicken soup with a hint of lemon. No creamy egg base. $23 is pretty pricey for 1 person and at that price I expect care to be taken when filling my order. It was not a busy time of day so there is no excuse for this kind of oversight. Doubtful I will give it another try at...
