As authentic Italian as it comes. This cozy restaurant has a true warm family energy, everytime I visit. A wide variety of homemade and traditional dishes, appetizers and desserts. Something for everyone. Guests have the option to sit outside under the covered patio or inside the dining area. There is also a bar area, with a fantastic array of wine selections. Food is prepared with love and you can taste it. It's always served hot and plated with care. COVID Safety Mention: Staff were fully masked and guests required to wear masks until food and drink arrived. Tables for guests were spaced reasonably which ensured customer comfort. **NOT SO Honorable mention: On the evening of 11/10/20, several customers seated on the patio, including my guest and I, witnessed one server curse and berate another server because she apparently and unintentionally, took her table. Not only did she stand in the entrance of the restaurant with the door open, yelling at the other server, she did it in front of customers, a new employee and the general public who were visiting other businesses upstairs. Not only was it unprofessional, but it was mean and disruptive of the usual relaxing ambiance. I will say, the server being "verbally" attacked, handled it with class and did not respond in kind. She simply stated "It's okay, I'll go to the other table." It was horrible to witness and was something that could have been discussed amongst the two of them, one on one, and not in an open fit of rage. For the sake of privacy, I will not reveal the names of these servers but hope that management will speak with all their employees and remind them about respect, integrity and decency amongst each other and in the presence...
Read moreI usually can’t go to Tally without getting a pizza and lots of take home from here. I come here a lot. Only this time was a super unpleasant experience. Hospitality industry requires common courtesy and hospitality to go along with good food, and good atmosphere. I sat outside with my service dog waiting for them to open. (I know just so annoying someone coming early!) Servers and workers there saw me. 11am came around I continued to wait. No one even popped their head out the door just to say, “hey do you need a menu or just hanging out.” Waited a few minutes longer and wondered if they were just standing there. I go inside to see them doing exactly that, just standing there talking. When I told the girls that I found their lack of common courtesy to be acceptable and why they were being inconsiderate, I got excuses and one even said, well it’s 8 minutes after opening! That’s the whole point that neither had enough courtesy to pop their head out and ask if I was eating and needed a menu. Then little miss attitude says, “Thank you. You have a good day.” With the most sarcastic attitude. There was NOT ONE PERSON IN THE PLACE AND THEY CHASE A REPEAT GOOD TIPPING CUSTOMER OUT THE DOOR just because they are inconsiderate. When someone has enough common courtesy to point out how you have offended them, you should apologize and appreciate the constructive criticism and do better! Not act like your shit don’t stink and you don’t need customers. I will find a new favorite pizza place to frequent from here on out. BYW my take out is always pushing $200. Food can be good, but when you are treated like you do not matter. I...
Read moreThis is a mixed bag review. Some good, some not so good. First of all, it's a cute place, with a great courtyard for outside dining. The inside is dated, which should have warned me about the food.
I ordered the stuffed mushrooms to start. Note to self; always ask about the preparation. It's been a long time since I have been served stuffed mushrooms that consisted of mushrooms stuffed with just breadcrumbs a'la 1950's. Bland, bland, bland.
For soup, I had the pasta e fagioli. While nice, this was not pasta e fagioli by any means. This was a canneloni bean soup with pasta instead of broth , vegetables and sausage.
The main course was nice. I had the country chicken; egg batter chicken in a sauce of broth, wine and a touch of marinara with peppers, mushrooms and onions. The sauce was delicate so it allowed the vegetable flavors to come out. Unfortunately, the fettuccine they bedded it on was overcooked and broken in half, so hard to twirl on a fork.
What I really despise though, is cheapness. I ordered a spaghetti and meat sauce to go. The bag felt light, and it was. You know the round aluminum dishes used for to go? Well they used the smaller size that's used for appetizers instead of the entree size. I weighed it in the grocery store next door. It was just under 1/4 lb. So, on a $10.00 entree, they made about 90% profit. Come on, spaghetti is a money maker already without giving such undersized portions.
So, for 2 entrees, 1 coffee, 1 iced tea, an appetizer and a cannoli, plus tip, the bill was $53.00, making it the most expensive meal I've had in Tally so far. The food quality is just not there...
