Village Inn — Restaurant in Tallahassee

I will say this was the absolute worst experience here. Very rarely do I walk out of a resturant without eating. But tonight we arrived well before 7:30pm and waited at the front to be seated. Finally 8 minutes later someone noticed us and after coming in and out of the kitchen twice came to seat us. Took our drink order and then came back. We knew what we wanted as we have eaten at village in for many years. After she dropped off the drink she left. Returned over 10 minutes later for our order. Placed our order she left. Came back after 8pm and said she was sorry the cook was slow. I glanced around the restaurant and saw we were the only ones waiting for food as the last 2 tables were waiting at the Register to pay. It was then I noticed the time. I heard someone from the kitchen arguing and then shout I am going outside. Looked as they walked by and it was the cook. Then I heard more comments coming from the kitchen about our food and the time. Had we been seated when we came in and ordered we would have been fed and out their door by 8pm. Had everything operated on their end as it should have. There were a total 4 tables dining when we walked in the restaurant. My 4 year old is crying he is hungry as I was really becoming impatient. So finally as the arguing in the kitchen kept going on I told my husband to take my son to the car and I threw some cash on the table to cover our drinks and we left. I don't know where management was as they were obviously not there. Because that was the absolute worst service I have had. We had 1 visit prior many months ago where everything was slow and the server was not attentive. I will state this will be the last business we give Village Inn. We will not be back. We went and got Pizza for my son and husband at Blaze and I got Takko Korean for myself and had much better service, much better experience and honestly probably better food and ordered sat and ate and left in the amount of time we sat at village Inn to consume half of our drinks, nothing else. I hope someone for management or an owner sees this and will correct it so you don't loose more business. Because you WILL be closing you doors like the other restaurants who don't...

This one is not like the other one located here. If you want great food, DO NOT come to this one. Went on a Friday early afternoon, there were like 6 other tables already sitting and dining, meaning they already had their food and was eating.

We overheard the kitchen staff arguing so there’s that.

After about being seated, we waited for about 8 minutes before the waitress arrived to take our order. My child ordered fries right away

Took about 45 minutes for our food to come out. All the while one man arrived after us, was seated, and got his plate along with another different party that arrive shortly after and was seated elsewhere. They too received their four plates before we did, a party of three.

45 minutes. My physical plate was hot but the food was not, the mashed potatoes was half prepared and cold. The fresh broccoli seemed like it was microwaved. I asked for a replacement on the mashed potatoes as they were not hot, took a while to get that, came out just the same.

My child was giving about fifteen fries for the price which the waitress even said, I don’t know why they gave so little…. To which she said she’ll get more.

Then we noticed we received stares from the kitchen staff at different times. Which led me to think of other issues they had with us in particular…..an interracial couple. Anyways here’s a picture of a fly that hung out with us while we dined unsatisfactorily.

Save your money and travel the distance and go to the other one on the northside. You will have a muuuch...

I don't know what is wrong with this location, but this is the second time we've tried to eat at this location. In the evening.

We were flat turned away at 7:00 p.m. One night telling us that they had closed when their closing time is 8:00 p.m.. 7:00 p.m. is not too early to ordering academy on get out, but it appeared that they had decided it was too late to see anybody and they turned us away. Last night we went at 6:00 p.m. because of that experience and when we entered there were two tables eating their food. No waitress or greater up front. We waited a minute or two said hello and no one seemed to. You know come out and see us. I walked to the back of the kitchen and peeked in and there was a man in the backward. The cooks are and he was looking up at a ticket and he was within eyeshot of me because I looked right at him and I said hello. Four times loud enough for him to hear me. I thought and he never acknowledged me. Needless to say we left. I don't know what is wrong with this location. I don't know if they are out of management. They're out of servers. What's going on but there is no service at this location and if you want to have a breakfast for dinner or whatever it is that they're serving don't go in...
