I totally felt bad for inconveniencing the staff for placing a food order here. They were having so much fun laughing, joking, playing on their phones, and hitting each other. I hated to disrupt their party. Instead, I placed an order for a burger and cry+fry.
I went to get my drink and one fountain head was out of most of the flavors and the other was out of the other half. Between the two of them they came close to having the majority of the flavors, but it was a scavenger hunt to find the flavor you wanted. It's a fun game that you luckily didn't have to pay to play while you were waiting for the food you paid way too much for.
When I did finally get my food, I quickly learned that the burger I paid $9 for was grossly overpriced! They say they use special meat, but the special meat must be perfectly aged roadkill that was properly tenderized by being ran over by a calculated number of semis.
Whoever suggested the onion rings must have never tasted onion rings before. The batter had very little flavor and the onion was not fully cooked. Luckily the fries were somewhat edible.
Before I left this high class, fine dining establishment, I stopped by the restroom. Aside from smelling like it was last cleaned 8 months ago, the toilet was gross and the seat almost fell off as I lifted it. When I went to wash my hands I discovered the soap dispenser was broken and I barely got a paper towel out of the dispenser.
Will I come back? There is a slight possibility I may return either after hell freezes over or the day after never; whichever comes last. Would I recommend this place? Yes, only to someone I despised and wished great harm on...
Read moreThe food is amazing at Burgerfi chain. I went to three locations in orlando about 4 months ago and everything was perfect. I dreamed about the burger, while I was away in Cali.
Finally flew into tampa and saw they only had one location.
I feel so sad for the burgerfi chain for this location. The service is awful. They want you to use the kiosk to order, even thtough they are standing there. Ordering for 5 people, its not an easy feat at the kiosk.
I read the reviews of this location. It sounds like they had someone here a couple years ago that made the service great. I can tell you that is not the case now.
Im sure the staff are nice. But they shouldnt be in this line of work. Out of 5 burgers and fries, i think they only got 3 correct. Nothing was labled, so were litterally pulling apart the burger just to identify it. By the time you finally take a bite, your families fingers have been through it trying to find out whos burger it is. There were at least 5 things wrong with the order. We chose to dine in, but they just put it all in a bag with no labeling and made us sort it out.
Like i said, its hard to beat the taste. Its amazing. But once again, i feel bad for burgerfi chain. Such an incredible location, and with every single order, the brand is being harmed forever. Plus there is not other location to drive to within less than an hour.
At the very least please open another location in tampa, and take care of it burgerfi management. Also, bring this chain to cali.
My thoughts. Not here to offend. Just want to tell the truth, and see...
Read moreSo... the shake while overpriced was delicious... that's something, I guess. Also, the staff did respond immediately to my question about why my burger was dry (as in it came with no kind of sauce unless requested/purchased as an upgraded). They did give me sauce on the side when I told them this was my first Burgerfi experience and didn't know to add sauce to my burger when ordering.
Honestly, though, that's the menu's fault. No specialty burger should start dry (and warm). You do have the option to remove things from your order, but this place is taking the minimalism approach too far. This ain't build-a-bear workshop!
This leads me to the price point, which, as you probably already guessed, is ridiculous. Expect to spend $20+ for a full meal (dry/warm burger, added sauce, cold instead of hot fries, and a soda drink that is hopefully impossible to mess up). There are signs stating you can get a burger, fries, and drink "starting" at 9.99 but of course the tiny word "starting" really means that's just the price of your dry/warm/salty burger before adding your cold fries and drink. They have some kind of loyalty reward program, but sorry, you have to impress me first in order for me to want to sign up for more. I was so disappointed, the only thing I finished was my $20+ shake. Lol. I can't believe it, what a waist!
Take my advice as a first-time Tampa visiter (from Chicago where pricey food is totally worth it!)... skip this and go to the closest 5 Guys. Although, I can't speak for Tampa's 5 Guys... so beware!...
