So it’s now 1:45 AM..after ONLY FICE hours sleep in two days I still can’t take a BATH at a hotel that’s fully furnished with full bath tubs. My last room looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned this year, this one scuffed and scratched with no tub stopper. I called the front desk and spoke to Doris who instead of simply advising how to stop the tub or bring whatever they use here invited Me to the front desk instead of simply bringing the stopper which the hotel had up front on hand but should have been IN MY ROOM especially after My first issue and it being after 1 AM! I’m on the 1st floor so the front desk is not far. I get dressed, go up and she’s NOT THERE, the whole time she was outside on her cell phone, with a cigarette. She came in with an even bigger attitude over My issue, stayed on her cell and played her rap music until she was ready to work. It’s UNACCEPTABLE and a total disgrace to have to fuss with Black workers as if We are feuding siblings because I have expectations of being valued and treated as a valued customer. NO ONE ELSE had to go thru that here so what makes Black workers feel the need to personalize situations out of pure pride just because I’m Black like them and look young. I will NEVER stay at this extended stay again. I ONLY came because their ratings were 3.8 over all others in the city expecting NOT To have to battle with Black Women to simply value and do their jobs and not pick and choose when and who they want to do the work they are paid for. Yes I’m bringing race because had I not been Black these Women wouldn’t handle issues the way they chose. Being Black is NOT just an issue from other races, it is in My experience a BIGGER issue from Blacks and it NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AND STOPPED just as if these Women were white. People throw racism around when it comes from non Black races ONLY when in My experience(s) it should be addressed just the same coming from Blacks. I AM currently sitting My room texting a review and Doris still has yet to simply bring the stopper. I made the first call from My cell phone to the front desk requesting it at 1:06 AM. HOW is this acceptable and what is going to be done. I do NOT spend My money to chicken neck with your Black employees on any level about ANYTHING. My frustration stems ONLY from My issue, it is NOT personal because Me and these Women are Black and I am disgusted, disgraced and disappointed that this is ALWAYS the play out when I see another Black Woman and happen to have an issue that they are PAID to handle. Acting “street” to handle My issue and refusing to handle it out of pride is so UNACCEPTABLE and truly reflects poorly on this nice hotel that I’ve honestly had not many issues that couldn’t be quickly resolved with. Ethics training needs to be addressed with Black employees and treated just the same as non Blacks. Being called “girl”, having a temper tantrum, hissy fit, on the phone, going in and out the hotel lobby door, bopping around giving street body language lobby door isn’t how an employee should be handling guest issues. This is just what I expected and why I asked her to simply bring the stopper which I still don’t have after all this to My room. So I’m at this hotel in another city and still can’t take a bath. Smh check out is in 9 hours and because I’m Black she assumes I have to WAIT until she’s ready to simply DO HER JOB, valuing and servicing ALL guests equally and to the best of her abilities using what the hotel provides and abundantly has. How long would any other guest have wait, fuss, watch this Black skit play out before their issues are simply resolved without all the extra animosity just because they can hear and see I’m Black like them? Maybe the hotel doesn’t care how I’m handled because I’m Black and maybe that’s why she and the Asst Manager from earlier who did this same thing giving the same sister girl attitude and actions when I checked in feels this is acceptable. The ONLY ONE who did their job as expected was Porsha, she’s the youngest employee who should be getting experience not doing...
Read moreWe chose this hotel for its convenient location near Moffitt International Plaza, which was perfect for our one-night stay. The room itself was comfortable, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Although we had a minor issue at check-in, it was resolved quickly—something I really appreciated since I had just come from an MRI at the Moffitt Magnolia Campus and wasn’t feeling my best.
Having stayed at many hotels, I did notice a few areas that could use improvement. The room was generally clean, but the bathroom and kitchen corners could have been tidied up better—there was visible dust buildup. While the stove top was clean, the burners still had some burnt residue. The floor appeared to have been vacuumed quickly, missing some spots. Although most surfaces were wiped down, there was dust and a few hairs in the bathroom, especially around the cups on the counter. The tub and toilet were clean, but there was some hair on the floor near the toilet and dust on the shelf under the sink.
In the kitchen, the sink was mostly clean except for a dried ramen noodle in the drain. The microwave was placed quite high, so I didn’t use it as I couldn’t easily check its cleanliness.
One small thing to mention: I brought my own coffee pot but forgot a cup. When I asked about paper cups for hot drinks, I was told only regular cups were available. However, I noticed plenty of paper cups for hot beverages at the breakfast grab-and-go area right by the front desk.
Overall, it was a quiet and pleasant stay. While the cleanliness could be improved, I’m not complaining—just sharing my honest experience. I’m grateful for the stay and the helpful staff.
I’d also like to mention that I’m not trying to be overly critical—I have experience working as a housekeeper and janitor myself. I’m simply sharing my honest observations in the hope that this feedback will be helpful and put...

EDIT 5/3/23** During check in, you will be asked to write a review BEFORE you ever see your room which is why there is an edit and the above review was written sight unseen. Lets talk about the room. It is no frills. BUT - it does have a full size fridge, stove top, microwave and a sink/kitchen basically. The room is a decent size and was clean when we arrived. No bugs, smell etc present. The bathroom has ZERO water pressure in the shower. I have long thick hair and it took a VERY LONG time for me to wash. Also washing soap off your body takes a long time. The shower curtain is also too long for the shower. I am plus sized and the shower is already small. Then to boot the shower curtain is bunched up at your feet in the shower and that is trip hazard and also annoying. We did not use the pool so I cant speak on it. What I can speak on is how terrible their breakfast selection is. There is literally nothing of substance offered on their "grab and go" breakfast. They may as well advertise free snacks in the lobby. The location of this hotel is great. The surrounding neighborhood, not so great. You are literally 1-2 miles from the stadium, the airport, downtown, International Plaza, restaurants, shopping etc. But all of that is overshadowed by the sketchy things happening in the parking lot. Also, the a/c seemed to stop functioning properly after the first night we were there. Since we were on vacation and spent minimal time in the room it affect us much and we never mentioned it. I may consider staying here again and just turn a blind eye to the negatives because the location is great. But that is...
