Today I must say was the first time I’ve been displeased with this location. I was placing my order with a wonderful young lady named Jahielis when the store line began to ring. I was literally in the middle of giving her the ingredients for my burger when Jason is in the background yelling “Five Guys, please hold”. He repeatedly yelled this to Jahielis while I was trying to complete my order and she was trying to hear me, over his incessant yelling. I assured her that she did the right thing which was to continue with my order. Answering the phone in the middle of my order would have been very rude. When I received my order from Jason I began to tell him that I knew he saw the look on my face when he was interrupting my order. I advised him that I was an in person customer, not a possible customer on the phone. He tells me it was policy to place a call on hold. Somehow, I don’t think that is the FULL policy. As I began to explain to him that this isn’t the best business practice, he overtalked me prompting me to ask that he just simply listen for a minute so he could know what I was saying. All the talking he was doing, he could’ve answered the phone himself. Hey Five Guys, know that the person that took time to come into your store is more important at that moment. I know that Burger Fi understands that concept. That’s where I’ll be going the next time I...
Read moreYoung, thin, black guy took my order...he was awesome, don't remember his name, great customer service great attitude. He liked his job...he was good at his job. Got my order quickly. Ketchup was out so young, black gal with long dreads came out to replace it. She brought a different full one out, set it down and walked away. Top of the thing wasn't on correctly so it wouldn't dispense ketchup. She didn't care. She didn't have any desire to fix it. It wouldn't work properly so we, myself and another customer, called her back over to ask her to fix it as there was no ketchup available. She comes back tries to put it on right, doesn't fit, it's not right and she says, "that's how it's supposed to be" and tries to pump it. Well it wasn't put together correctly so of course it wouldn't work right. She didn't want to deal with it, she didn't care. You could tell she could care less if we got ketchup. After a few mins, she took both pumps of ketchup to the back and later re-emerges with a full one properly put together and in working order, but hadn't been wiped down in who knows how long. It was just gross. I didn't get her name either. Just a poor attitude, she didn't want to be there. However, food was spot on, hot and delicious. Best fries on the planet! Would've given 5 stars but that young lady was just ridiculously lazy and simply...
Read moreFive guys was one of the original players in what is now a sea of premium burger joints. The menu has not changed since they opened in Tampa. Burgers come in two sizes, regular, and little. I am not a kids meal kind of guy so I ordered the standard cheeseburger ($7.99), "Little Fry" ($3.29), and a regular soda ($2.49). The standard burger is huge, nearly half a pound of beef, and the order of fries is also more than I can eat. I guess it goes with the attitude of the place. Everything is large, but it's also very expensive. The atmosphere is also very loud, with music pounding in the background and kitchen staff yelling back and forth at one another over the music. There are free salted peanuts in the shell to munch on while you wait for your meal. The staff is friendly and the place is relatively clean. With all of the other premium burger places in town including the new Smash Burger, Burger Monger, Square one, BurgerFi and Goody-Goody to name a few, 5 Guys seems stale. And, for this eater, their prices are outrageous. Even though their beef is fresh and the burgers are large, $15 for a cheeseburger, fries and drink for lunch is way...
