First time going to Tabu was back in March. Trying to order a drink was pretty difficult because it seemed like they were short staffed.
I went with my friend and the beach was full of locals & military people. The water is so cool and I loved it!
I never thought I’d experience this in Guam but the bartender was being racist against us. After waiting for about 20 minutes, we tried to order a drink to a man who wasn’t facing us but it turns out that he worked for engineering — we didn’t see until he later turned around with a shirt that said engineering AFTER we asked him.
The engineering man later told a bartender that we’re trying to order and he said “I’ll let them wait” and they both laughed. I’m assuming he thought we couldn’t understand English because we were tourists, but regardless, this behavior was extremely unprofessional.
But I wasn’t going to let his attitude get in my way of having a good time here! That bartender didn’t take our order after all and some other guy came to take it but he was sweet. I loved the cups and details of this establishment. Make sure to take cute photos by the swing and enjoy the drinks that come...
Read moreIt's more of a tourist trap than a place to enjoy. Prices are high, but quality is low. Drinks cost the same or more than your food.
Their fries were really good. The seasoning and their sauce made it worth it. I asked for extra jalapeño slices for my nachos and waited forever for them to give me a ramekin of whole pickled jalapeño peppers. The taro sliders were subpar; more pretty than tasteful.
Some of the cocktails were too sweet, and some just sour. One of the cocktails is supposed to be served with a popsicle. The server waited until after he gave us the drinks and flagged him down to tell us that they were out of the Popsicles. We still had to pay full price for those drinks without the...
Read moreThe service was absolutely terrible. As a tourist spot with expensive prices and a culture where tipping is not common among Asians, I understand that gratuities are automatically included on the bills. However, the staff paid no attention to taking orders or processing payments, appearing more focused on socializing among themselves. Despite requesting the bill, it never arrived. If tips are charged without asking for customers' opinions, I believe that basic customer service should still be provided. This is the first time encountering such a place while traveling, and I doubt I...
