Amazing food!!!!
So Christmas Eve we dined in and my expectations were low, but they quickly changed. I lived in Sicily for a few years and traveled to Italy a bit. I tried many Italian restaurants back in the states that were good, but just not “familiar”, more Americanized Italian food. The Bruschetta came out and it was absolutely amazing!! Omgosh it was perfect! My kids got a cheese pizza and loved it. I ordered the Eggplant Parmigiana and it was good. I wish it was a little more flavorful, but it was still pretty good and hit the spot. The breadsticks appetizer and bread that came with the food were also a hit. I was really impressed with the food! It definitely hit the spot!!
For the negative comments about the food, restaurants are going to have their good days and bad. Plus, you need to remind yourself you’re in Guam. You’re not going to get the quality or freshness of a lot of items unfortunately. Also, Italian food varies because not every province does it the same. People have to remember Italian food in America is NOTHING like Italian food in Italy/Sicily. It is different.
Only thing I would say is the service could be a bit better, but I noticed that’s how it is in Guam.
Overall, it was a great...
Read moreI think people like it for the portion sizes. Overall the food desperately needs seasoning and flavor. I’m not sure if they use marinara sauce instead of spaghetti sauce but everything needed more spices.
Calamari: bland, breading falls apart, served with ranch. Asked for lemon to give it some flavor.
Tour of Italy. Fettuccine Alfredo: was bland not bad
Lasagna: way too many layers of pasta with hardly anything in between. A ton of sauce and cheese on top that needed seasoning.
Chicken parmigiana: barely edible. I had 2 bites and that was it. I didn’t take it home with me because there was no way to save it. I thought it was odd that it was already cut into slices. The chicken tasted weird and rubbery. I’m pretty sure it is fully cooked by being boiled. It tasted old/freezer burnt. It had zero seasoning. What breading was on there had no seasoning as well. Lots of sauce and cheese on top that again needed more seasoning.
I took the Alfredo and some of the sauce and cheese home and added spices and it was a lot better. The bread you get is pretty decent so maybe the sandwiches are better...
Read moreThe food here is gross and absolutely not authentic or fresh as some reviewers say. I have Italian family, have been to Italy and many Italian American joints and this place is an insult to Italians. It is the day after and I am still feeling quite ill. Definitely go to Olive Garden or get frozen pizza and skip this place.
We got calamari which was frozen/chewy and served with jarred tartar sauce. We specifically asked if the calamari was fresh and the waitress lied and said yes.
The pizza was clearly prepared from frozen and the cheese/toppings were barely melted on top. The crust was hard and bland.
The chicken Parmesan was worse than the kind in the nursing home I have worked at. The pasta was over cooked, the sauce was bland and too sweet, the chicken was clearly low quality and prepared from frozen.
The bread they provide is a sesame hoagie roll that they toast and brush with artificial butter flavoring. It was the best thing I ate which is not saying much.
When we received the bill and were writing a tip, a waiter stood and stared at us until we were done which was very...
