Sweetwood Bakery — Restaurant in Tarpon Springs

First let me start with the good. Cutest store! The exposed brick with the pale pink walls create a very sweet and charming atmosphere. The staff and owners are quick to respond to customers regarding your order. We had them for our wedding and look forward to being able to stop in for a slice of that same cake for our future anniversaries, the plus side of going with a bakery so local!

The bad: we spent just shy of $1k on our strawberry wedding cake from here. We had the one with fresh strawberries. We ordered 3 cakes from here for this event, 2 of them being the strawberry. We loved the cake when we sampled it in the store. We told our guests months before the wedding how delicious this cake is. The wedding day came and went …the only thing we heard about the cake (and continue to hear a month later) is how the strawberry cakes had almost no strawberries in it! We were SOOO disappointed as it was even strawberry season at this time. The management team did reimburse 10% of the cake. I honestly don’t feel like it rectified the situation as the cake was nearly $1k (we ordered 2 strawberry cakes) and the refund was only $100. The delivery fee for the cake alone is $75. I do not feel like this was right. This was supposed to be a cake with fresh strawberries and was basically a vanilla cake with strawberry flavored simple syrup on it for a wedding nonetheless. Not just a small birthday party. We will come in to the shop for a slice or two but would not trust them with an important event again,...

I’m usually not a big fan of cake, so the idea of having to pick out a cake for my husband & I’s wedding was a bit overwhelming. I was nervous that I would be stuck just tolerating any chosen cake on our wedding day. We went to Sweetwood Bakery for a tasting, which we chose 3 unique flavors to try in advance, and we were very pleased with each option. So pleased that we actually asked if it was possibly to have 2 flavors for the different tiers, which was accommodated. The 2 flavors we chose were Banana Cinnamon and Orange Pineapple. Flavors and cake aside - the owner was very professional yet down to earth. She was very helpful with suggestions to give me a vision for our cake when I really didn’t know what I wanted. The final product on the wedding day was absolutely beautiful and exactly what we agreed upon. I also want to stress that tasting the cake again on the wedding day seemed even more delicious than the day we did the tasting! All of our guests absolutely loved the cake too. I highly recommend Sweetwood Bakery and will be using their services for special occasions...

The chef and staff work really hard to put together and keep a quality, professional kitchen and put out quality ingredients. The chef labels people a skitzophenic. They are very mean and reluctant. The selection is limited. They do not care for the government. 🇫🇷 🍰

They discuss client choice and prepare. I take home a uniquely rich, moist, clean, and beautifully cutting small and thick cookie butter cake. Their product is quality with clean icing design. I am very super glad they provide cake by the slice through their storefront. 🎂

I wish they had the help to make and sell some of the best housemade blueberry muffins. 🫐

I wish to learn and gain general experience. 👩‍🍳 I really enjoy seeing pastel focused floral arrangements using different sizes, flower types, and nice complimenting color groups with slightly dispersed, slightly full, and medium leaves. 🌸 🍃

Lastly, I wish they could buy a plot of land and work towards slowly building a personal store bakery front.

They remind me of a super good pie shop in Atlantic Beach, Florida named Pie Heaven...
