The beginning of the bad experience began when I entered the restaurant at approximately 12:30 to get a sandwich to go. I walked up to the counter to place my order. A young lady met me at the register and just stood there waiting for me to address her with not so much as a greeting. I greeted her because I know good manners and then gave her my order. I ordered the small cheesesteak with no side items.
I had a seat to wait for my order to be prepared. There was only one person ahead of me. that person received their food and I sat and waited for 7 minutes (I counted the time while my sandwich just sat on the countertop waiting for someone to tell me to pick it up). When the person making the sandwiches finally called my name. I told her that I had seen that sandwich sitting on the counter for at least 7 minutes as I sat there waiting. She then told me that she had just made all of the sandwiches and no matter what they would be sitting there. I told her I didn't want to argue but the sandwich had in fact been sitting there a minimum of 7 minutes and her co-worker had walked over to the sandwich, Looked at it and continued on whatever she was doing in the store as if I wasn't there. I told her for the sake of process improvement this needs to change so she immediately turned to her co-worker and told her to call out the names of people when their sandwiches were ready -- ya think??? I asked the person how would I have known my sandwich was ready if nobody told me and she said you wouldn't. I took my sandwich and left and I won't be back. On top of the customer-no-service, The sandwich was edible at best, not seasoned and definitely not worth the $12 I paid for it. I can get a better sandwich in a less fancy mom and pop establishment. The meat on the sandwich had not been seasoned at all and I could tell that the grill had been in heavy use because of the charred taste on my meat as I ate...
Read moreI placed an order a few weeks ago, and when I went to pick it up I had the rudest customer service experience. The lady working tried to pawn another persons sub out on me, and insinuated I had the wrong restaurant even though I had my order number. After she told me to “sit down” and she’d make me my order, I gave up and left due to her complete rudeness. It’s been almost 3 excruciating weeks of trying to get my money back, and the owner/manager refuses to respond to myself, or the customer complaint I filed through their corporate office. Look elsewhere for a sub shop, as this place will take your money and refuse to even engage with you on a refund. Worst restaurant experience I’ve ever encountered.
EDIT: I appreciate the owner responding below with a completely one sided POV. Completely ignoring the worker being rude to me and insinuating I was an idiot who had the wrong store. Also loved her long sigh after I told her that sub wasn’t mine or even my correct name (I believe the name on the sub was something like Joanne that she was trying to pass off on me). Also love your POV of “making me a new sub”. Pointing and shouting “Sit down” is fantastic customer service. Love being treated like a child for asking for a sub I bought. Did your footage also show me standing around for minutes, alone in the store, with her completely ignoring me? So yeah, I did end up being rude to her, because of the previous interactions with her where she treated me like a bother for trying to pick up a sub I bought. Don’t worry though, I’ll make sure everyone around the area knows not to bother you guys with...
Read more1 Sep 2022, 3:00PM As a regular customer, I was disappointed for the first time on my standard order of a Waygu Beef Slaw Be-Jo sandwich. My sandwich had roughly 40% less meat than normal, and the bun was not fully stale, but certainly not fresh. I hope this isn't a cost-cutting measure that's here to stay (due to inflation), because I'll be reluctant to order from Capriotti's in the future.
Update: 4 April 2023. (This update dropped my 3 star Google review to 2 stars.)
Gave Capriotti's another chance, and to be fair, used my Capriotti's points to make my Medium sized Waygu Beef Slaw Be-Jo almost free. (NOTE: The response from owner below is from my original review dated September 2022)
The sandwich was mostly cole-slaw, and VERY little meat...to the point where it was utterly ridiculous, and even laughable. It was certainly NOT worth the standard $14 price point for what amounts to a coleslaw sandwich with a small amount of meat. If the sandwich was made on purpose in the way I am describing due to the fact that used my Capriotti points, then shame on them.
The photo attached is from this latest 4 April 2023 order.
I will not be ordering from Capriotti's again, which is rather sad, given my having recommended the brand to numerous co-workers. I don't post this rather negative review to hurt the brand, nor the franchise owners, but to share my experience(s) with my fellow Ft Mill/Tega Cay diners to allow them to make an informed...
