Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Tega Cay

Both my children have multiple food allergies. Went to tropical smoothie for drinks (they love the smoothies). Gentleman behind the taking my order I believe he is the owner asked what I wanted I started out like I do everywhere I go told him both my kids have multiple allergies so needed them made in an allergy free blender. He rolled his eyes and started to tell me it can’t be done. I said we come here all the time. And again he started to tell me he can’t do it. I told don’t worry no problem and chose to leave he insisted on following me out of the store he wanted a better understanding of the allergies I replied don’t worry I’ll take my business elsewhere. We’ve been living in South Carolina for 3 years for 3 years we’ve been going there for smoothies at least twice a week. Used to go to tropical smoothie in New York never has there been a problem. It’s hard enough for my kids to feel normal there words and yet another place we will not return to do to someone not caring about there job and the customers they serve. The owner is very rude. Not personable and honestly. I will never go there again. So let me tell you a story. I had teeth work done and my dentist won’t be back until Jan. Full cosmetic makeover and I have plastic teeth for the duration until the crowns come back from laboratory. So I must drink my food until he comes back. I can’t chew. Ordered the detox green with extra green pack, extra ginger, moringa and matcha green. Almost $10. Well the overage he tells me he can not give me. Although I paid for it all. He tell me he’s going to trash it. Didn’t matter to him it was my only way of eating. HE TRASHED IT. UNBELIEVABLE- with all the people who don’t have to eat. I pay for an item and he trashed the leftover 4-6 ounces. That I paid extra for. Now, that’s a nice owner. NOT. NEVER AGAIN. I have never had my extra overage thrown out. I moved from Newport News, VA a year ago, where there are several" Tropical Smoothies." I was thrilled to find this one! I was recently, back in VA for a week and hit four different locations, during my stay. I have to say, they are all clean and the smoothies are good, but this location in Tega Cay is by far superior. The service is outstanding!!! They go out of their way to make sure every smoothie tastes exceptional and how you want it. The staff is super friendly and eager to please.I tell everyone why" Tropical Smoothie," is superior to any other place where they can purchase a smoothie. The ingredients are fresh, not something opened up from a concentrated can. If you have not stopped by this place I highly recommend trying it.
