We waited a frustrating 25 minutes for someone to take our order, during which time the waitress seemed unaware that shrimp was an available option for the salad additions. When we finally placed our order, we also asked for an appetizer, but to our dismay, it arrived at the table alongside the main dishes instead of before them. I made sure to inform the server that this was unacceptable as it disrupted our dining experience.
Adding to our dissatisfaction, my salad was served a full 25 minutes after everything else had been brought to the table. At this point, I was feeling increasingly frustrated, and the situation escalated dramatically when the manager intervened. He approached us and not only accused me of being rude but also cursed at me, telling us to leave their town. I was taken aback by his disrespect and inability to handle the situation in a professional manner.
I've always believed in supporting staff, and I understand that the restaurant was busy before we were seated. Everyone has challenging days, but I felt that our concerns warranted respect and attention rather than hostility. I made it clear that the appetizer should never come after the main courses, as this is a fundamental part of dining etiquette. To compound the issues, our drinks took an astonishing 30 minutes to arrive, which further disrupted our experience.
While I can empathize with a busy restaurant trying to recover from a rush, that does not justify the way we were treated. It was incredibly disheartening to walk away feeling humiliated after spending $175 on what turned out to be a mediocre meal. The worst part was undoubtedly the poor service, which overshadowed any potential enjoyment we could have had from our dining experience. It's sad that a place that should foster goodwill and great food could leave us feeling so unwelcome and...
Read moreFood was great, but the experience was ruined by the attitude of our server. From the second we got there she made a snarky comment about us asking to move outside (the restaurant was no where near busy). When one of our guests asked if they had poutine, she responded “Yeah it’s on the menu, anything that’s on the menu we have” followed by a sarcastic laugh. It was a reasonable question since poutine is usually under appetizers and it is listed under main courses on their menu, but either way there was no need for the sass, a simple yes would have been fine. However, she felt the need to give us attitude and sarcasm and this was a common theme throughout our whole meal. After some more rude facial expressions, unfulfilled requests for our dishes, and lack of attention throughout our meal, we kindly asked for separate checks. There were 4 of us and we each got a dish and a drink, and again, the restaurant was not busy. When we asked, she responded “I’d prefer not to” but we kindly asked if she could and said we appreciated the extra effort. 5 minutes later she comes back with 1 singular check that was slammed on the table with no pen or anything to separate it. When we made a comment about it, she again was rude and said angrily “we’ll no one told me what was their’s.” ???How about kindly asking us who got what. I also noticed they used the Toast platform which I am familiar with since I used to be a waitress, and I know that it’s not difficult at all to divide checks on that tablet. Also, the table behind us had 10 people and their waitress gave them separate checks. I don’t normally write reviews, but I was just astonished at how terribly we were treated. Basic customer service is a must as a waitress and she simply had none no matter how kind we...
Read moreThis is my first review on google. I’ve had lots of not-so-friendly experiences in different places but only now I’ve decided to write a review - guess why?
For the owners - see why your average rating is declining for a couple years now - that might be due to one specific person. Maybe due to high prices too, but I would say it’s that person.
Walking into an empty saloon and being greeted with grump on a face is not a good first impression from the place. Then 20 or more seconds to finish the conversation with a co-worker and having customers to stand there and wait to have the seat shown.
After paying the bill hearing not very quiet “seriously?!” looking directly at the customers followed by also laudable “unbelievable…”. You think what this might be the reaction to? 5$ tip for 65$ meal.
We’ve ordered a cocktail, soda, burger and Philly cheese steak.
Food was too pricy but the quality was good - if anyone deserved a tip it was a chef not the rude waitress (middle-aged woman with glasses). We should not tip that lady a broken dime.
Dear owners, please seriously consider your further collaboration with that person.
It’s the warm welcome and good service that earn you tips, not looking like you are about to murder your customers.
Tips are not granted, there are thousands of other professions that don’t get them. Be grateful for what you get and don’t demand. See what Mister Pink had to say about tipping in...
