Be careful... The local definition of art/culture can sometimes be a little raunchy here. However, the venue is quaint, has a decent setup, and is a place I'd return to. It would be 5 stars if it were not for the small folding chairs and limited seating space.
Expanding on my first comment might be offensive to read: We went to the 40 year anniversary of culture (or something like that). It appeared to be a version of an open mic night. One Caucasian lady spoke her poem in "voice" that might have been offensive to African Americans. The next act included a man in drag lip-syncing a song (and not doing all that good a job) where the finale was his water breaking or him having an on-stage abortion (it was unclear). It was supposed to be funny, but it just missed the mark. We had seen enough and left. I'll only return to this venue for...
Read moreLittle has been done over the years to the venue which has beautifully maintained it's character. The setting is intimate and they keep the audience respectful. The seats on the front row on the balcony are the most uncomfortable things I've ever sat in. There is almost no leg room. There was no air moving so the air was stale and it was warm.
