Crazy how this company still is in business with the bad customer service and the shady stuff they do. I have been a long time customer. Even have a CC with them. I let the credit card close and I re opened it to get the free year of pro. I pretty much shop there for the $5 a month they give me and for the big sales. During the holidays that had a big sale and when I went I. To get the game they said the wouldn’t match the game with their online sale price as they’re not aloud to per store policy. What type of bs is that? However the salesperson was nice. This was at the redhawk store. Even suggested I could purchase it online and set it to come in and pick it up. I didn’t. I just ended up having Best Buy price match for me.
But today I ventured in to the Winchester store by the mall to see what the had for their buy 2 get one Xbox and ps4 games. I found 3 that I liked. I also found Like a dragon Infinite wealth on ps5 new was still $60 so I went to see if they had a used copy. They did and it was tagged at $22 used. So I thought cool and grabbed it. Went up to the counter to see a young kid standing staring at the wall/door reading something on it. I stood there for what felt like over a minute but I’m sure it was less till I finally said “I’m ready to get these” and with an attitude right of the bat he came over and started to ring me up. He scanned the games and asked for my number and I guess while I gave it to him I realized the used Like a dragon rang up for like $47 and I let him know it rang up wrong and that the sticker said $22. Right off the bat with his tone he came off as if he was accusing me as to switching the stickers as the corner of the sticker was coming up. So I took the game and said no look on the sticker it has the name of this game and it has this as the price. You should honor this sticker as it’s clearly the stores mistake. He flat out said they don’t make mistakes like that, again insinuating it was me who switch the stickers and tore off the sticker and said they weren’t gonna honor it. I asked if he was the manager or if the manager was in if I could talk to them. He said she was on her lunch break in the back but he would go talk to her. Nero, who’s name is on the reciept went to the back and talked to her what felt like honestly a good 3-5 minutes. Like a good enough time to rewind servialiance tape to see if I did swap stickers lol meanwhile there’s now like 6 customers I. The store and no employees on the floor. Finally Mr Nero comes out and informs me she will match it as a one time deal. I said great. Meanwhile I let him know that while he was in there I looked up this game on the GameStop app and on the app it is listed used on the ps5 at $47 but on the Xbox one it’s $22 used on your app that it was indeed your store that made the mistake and placed the wrong sticker. Once again in a real smart tone he said “nooo we don’t make mistakes” I said “that’s fine. As you can see with the games I got I have Xbox series X. Just give me your used copy on the Xbox then and we will put the ps5 one back” He looks, “we don’t have it in stock used on the Xbox” Me, “exactly. It wasn’t me that switched tags it was you and your store that made the mistake” Funny tho g is, is that Mr Nero legitimately looked mad like he f’n owned the store. I’m a grown adult that makes adult money I don’t need to switch tags to save money son. Not worth my time for $20 or $25. My moral barometer is way to high to some shady stuff like that, but one things for sure, your customer service needs to change or your not goi g to a oh t to much past GameStop. At least your not taking my order at McDonald’s or Taco Bell, $20 an hour is way too much salary for your attitude. I’d say I’d stop shopping here completely. Well I’m sure I will at the Winchester one anyways. Unless I see this person at my home store or at another one. But over the years my purchases at GameStop has def gone down less and less and it’s because of...
Read moreThe most dishonest company I’ve ever come across. I do not review companies very often as I have a tendency to let things go pretty easily because life is to short to hold negative emotions for long. With that being said my partner purchased a switch and a few accessories as a birthday gift for me this July. I’m not a big gamer but he is and he wanted me to give it a shot. I was on the fence about the purchase as the total came to the better part of $500. We had a decent conversation with the cashier and at one point I looked at my partner and said I’m not sure we should buy this cuz I didn’t want him to waist his money if I didn’t end up using it as much as he hoped. The cashier started thought there was a 30 day full refund guarantee for all the products that we were about to purchase so we could go ahead and take it home and Try it out and if I end up, not liking it, I could bring it back for the full refund. I even purchased the warranty on the switch just in case, anything happened to it in the time that I had it. About week and a half went by and I noticed I didn’t really used the item more than the one time and I originally purchased it more so a system that would hook up to the TV and something I could be more active with. when I came to return the switch with my partner, the manager told me that I was unable to do a return for a full refund and stated the policy to me completely different than the first cashier that I spoke to in my previous visit. He told me that there must have been a miscommunication, and I misunderstood what his employee said however, I was very clear with him that I did not misunderstand what he said he just lied straight to my face to get the sale for the day. my partner was with me and the only reason we went through with the purchase was because of the 30 day moneyback guarantee that was stated to us. At that point we tried to see what other options were available to us. He told us there were a couple things he could do but none of them were giving us a full refund , and if we wanted to, we can return this item and pay more money for a newer item but again we wouldn’t have any lead in returning that either. In the end there is nothing they could do for us, and he reiterated that it was my misunderstanding however, there was no misunderstanding his employee lied, and when I asked for the name of the employee so that I could go to corporate and let them know what had happened , he refused to give it to me. He refused to print out a new receipt for me. He refused to give me any information. This was the manager for the Temecula location. He said he also works at another location and although he was calm he was completely unhelpful, and did not at any point offer solution , that was acceptable. It is a complete fraud to lie to somebody when selling them a product at a company. I have never purchased anything at GameStop and I never will again. I truly believe that the way that they run their company is a big scam, and the fact that they allow their employees to lie to your face is extremely unethical. I am only writing this, so that other see and hopefully don’t have to go through the same. I don’t want a response from this company as there’s nothing they can do for me short from giving me my full refund as I did return within the 30 days that the employee originally quoted me to get my full refund, and as the manager had stated, apparently, that is impossible . Good luck to anybody shopping at...
Read moreI've been coming to this GameStop for around two decades. Prior employees like Larry, Krista and Tiffany made so many great childhood memories with my parents and extended family members. Over time the staff has changed and they continue to be great. Greg (the current manager), is fantastic. I've run into him at his other location and he is always great to talk with. Audrey has been super helpful in the past, and Nero helped me out last night & it was on of my favorite interactions at a GameStop in a long time.
Physical media may be on the decline, but I always look forward to shopping at this GameStop in Temecula. As a collector, their recent addition of the retro wall is nice, and I hope people continue to trade and buy pre-owned games for more to choose from. Be savvy, track trade values and promotions. Use discounts like the $5 off monthly membership and buy 2 get 1 free deals. GameStop has good deals, you just need to know how the system works. They have paid me more then I would make on eBay sometimes and while it is in store credit, I am always buying the next big game from them.
From a long time customer, thank you for the memories...
