Denny's — Restaurant in Tempe

This Dennys is convenient but the service is poor-every time I come in, I try to oversee some of the poor service, but it’s literally every time and the experience to have a peaceful meal is gone, tonight I came in, I stood at the entry by the cashier desk and the waitress avoided eye contact as if I was invisible, there was a nice guy that greeted me and sat me down, after a long wait, I ordered my food (it’s busy so I wait a long time for my food, it’s expected and it’s ok) I get my food, waitress never comes to refill my drink and she does not bring me the syrup for the pancakes, i try to make contact with any waitress looking them straight in the eyes, i am ignored like I’m invisible, I wait to see if I can get someone’s attention for a refill and syrup for my pancakes and nothing, I decide to call the front desk on my cell ( I was desperate and hungry) to get someone’s attention and it rings i choose option 2 to speak with someone and the call rings again and I get disconnected, I go to the counter to ask for a refill and syrup and when I finally get the waitress attention I get a little bit of attitude as she is too busy to help me, I finally get my refill and syrup and my pancakes are cold and the syrup does not taste good on cold pancakes, it seems like something like this always happens at this Dennys, I never get this treatment at black bear diner, they are always nice and have the syrup at the table, and the waitresses don’t act like they are being bothered when I ask for something they forgot. I try íes eating the cold pancakes because I am hungry but them being cold and the waitress attitude just did not seem like I should eat them, like 9 out 10 times I get this treatment or bad customer service, so I end up writing a review after the 20th time , idk why I come back, black bear dinner please open late so I can have a hot meal. Btw the only thing that is consistent at this dennys is that the waitresses look miserable and tired, I’m not sure if the expect a tip, after making me feel like the bad guy after asking for syrup, after about 20 min after my meal was served. The one star if for all the the times that have been accumulated and I have bitten my tounge , paid and walked out disappointed from the Dennys experience , I had to go to jack in the box to get more food...

Well where to begin? The parking lot is pretty dark especially at 1am on Friday night Saturday? Applebees told us they were short staffed and weren’t seating anyone ? After we just followed a few people in that were seated ? So we went for dennys ? I doubt I will ever suggest that again ! The appetizer’s were not appetizing? There was three over done onion rings , and over done mozzarella sticks and chicken nuggets smothered in some salty wing sauce ? We also got nachos there was some sort of something under them that was like how grease turns solid again and maybe some queso blanco sauce or sour cream ? It was nasty ! And mostly chips ? My man’s daughter got chicken strips no complaints on those ! I love chicken fried steak I get it 90% of the time hash browns over easy eggs smother it all in the country gravy and I’m happy ! I don’t think I’ll be getting it anymore ! I speacial requested the dinner portion that comes with two steaks . The only thing good was the hash browns ? But who just wants hash browns . Our waitress was great she really tried her best . She told me she was going to get me two over easy eggs not the over cooked things that first came out ! She did but it didn’t matter because the steak and gravy ruined everything on my plate . The gravy was an orange color not the creamy white gravy that it normally has on it . My man ordered the t bone steak medium rare with fries and a salad ! The salad was bomb ! There’s no reason to regular any certain doneness it can’t take more then two mins on each side to over cook ! She also returned it to the guys and they had another one up in no time ! lol! The kid ordered a burger and Mac and cheese . We requested extra pickles it had none the Mac and cheese came so late that when it got to us I had actually forgot she ordered it ? Not one order came out correctly then I noticed that every order they place was a remake ! Literally every one that came in! Our waitress gave us a discount but it was still over $100 ! She did try her best she was very busy too ! We tipped her well ! Hey but if you’re looking for a nice salad ? Dennys...

walked in and wasn’t greeted. host just stared from afar. eventually said hi. then he just walked off with menus, didn’t tell us to follow him, but we got the hint. no service for a few minutes, then a kind woman came up and asked if we’d been helped. we ordered. we got our coffees, mine was nasty (the iced coffee with free refills) but i had to wait another ~8 minutes until we saw her again with the food. she was very kind as to remove the iced coffee off of our ticket because i did not like it. she didn’t come back for another 20 minutes. we both got stacks of 2 pancakes, and the cooks felt shame enough to hide their burnt mistake pancakes under the top ones to give the illusion that it was a stack of delicious pancakes, but in actuality tasted like ash. didn’t want to trouble the poor woman who was running the floor all by herself while a group of coworkers dilly dallied and chatted away without helping her. she never asked me if i wanted a box, but i don’t blame her because she was very busy, so i had to walk up to her lazy group of coworkers and ask them instead. it seemed like quite the difficult task for them to get me a box. we finally realized we had to pay up front after waiting for so long for her to come back to the table, so we walked up to the unstaffed front. waited a couple minutes for one of her lazy coworkers to notice us. overall, the food was horrible and burnt, and they knew it was burnt but decided to hide it from us instead of remaking it. the coffee is water tinted brown. and the service is diabolical. instead of standing around, being useless, and having terrible customer service, how about you help out the only person waiting on all...
