Update:
Still Disappointed—Even After the Call
Freddy’s did reach out after my last review. I got a semi-apology explaining that both the broken app deal and the skimpy ice cream portion are corporate decisions. Fair enough—but it still doesn’t excuse the poor customer experience.
If you look at the photos they use to advertise their frozen custard and compare them to what you’re actually handed, it’s laughable. The difference is night and day.
I’ll bump it up to 2 stars, mainly because they took the time to respond. But that’s as far as I’ll go. The young lady who called me promised to send me something by mail as a goodwill gesture. She never followed through.
It’s frustrating when a business doesn't even keep its word during damage control. Safe to say I won’t be returning anytime soon.
Original Review: Bait-and-Switch Burgers and a Sad Excuse for Ice Cream
I got an email from Freddy’s: "$1 STEAKBURGERS all day! 🍔 National Steakburger Day is Here!"
With the economy the way it is, I figured, why not? Left early for work to grab a deal. Joke’s on me—the offer never worked on the app, and I kept moving. Strike one.
Now, this wasn’t my first time at Freddy’s. I love their burgers, but I’d never tried their frozen custard. Thought I’d finally give it a shot. I asked the girl at the counter to show me the cup sizes. She holds up the small one. Looked like a decent amount, so I went with it.
Then she hands me my order… half a cup of ice cream. I looked at her, confused, and asked, “Where’s the rest?” She blinked at me like I’d lost my mind and said, "That’s what you get. The small is just one scoop."
No. You showed me the cup and said, “This is the size.” You did not say, “You only get half of it.” There’s a difference.
And honestly? The frozen custard wasn’t even that good. Next time, I’ll just get the Oreo dessert—way better and cheaper.
Burger? 5 stars. Freddy’s shady...
Read moreWe went to the Tyrell location last night, 11-5, and spent $114 there for 6 number 1 combos with cheese 3 additional single burgers, and 5 chocolate malts. The fries were soggy and cold, there were no straws for our drinks because they were out, the malts were not malts at all, but instead chocolate custard. Not only was I specific when I ordered these malts-"add enough malt to choke a horse," I said, but even asked the kid serving us the malts and in front of his manager, who observed him making these malts, "did you add malt?" The kid insisted he had. No, that was a big fat lie. No malt at all. Not in any of these malts. The burgers were greasy and very flat. Seemed almost like burger chips not patties. Only bad experience I've had at any Freddy s any where. We wont be back and that's for sure- not at this location in Tyrrell texas- not sure about the spelling. Last thing to note was this manager of this store- he asked me while I waited at the counter for my malts ( whole experience from waiting in line to getting my food took 1 HR and 17 minutes because the line was very long when I got there) if I needed anything. I told him I needed drink holders straws and my malts. He gave me drink holders, went on to to try to advise me to let my husband and son carry our food but then told me they had a bunch of customers so ID have to wait on my malts. Next time we crave Freddy's, we'll drive to Tyler..its worth the extra minutes because this experience was very...
Read moreI frequent Freddys often with breaks in between but the last couple of times I’ve been my order given in the drive thru was wrong. The first time I took my order as it was because I didn’t check it before I left the drive thru the second time I made sure I checked it before I drove off and sure enough it was wrong. There was a gentleman in a grey shirt who came to the window might of been the manager who asked what was wrong and I informed of the issue and he didn’t look to happy about correcting it but he then had me pull forward and I had to wait for a new order to be made. I’m not sure what’s going on whether it be training or just the employee NOT taking pride in their job but I repeated my order several times and the girl who took it still got it wrong as I was almost sure she would because of how many times I had to repeat it. I’m not sure what Chic Fila does but my order is always RIGHT at that place never have to check my bag. There is no such thing as Accuracy and consistency in the fast food business anymore it’s just get the order out as quick as possible whether it’s right or wrong. After I got my food and ate I was running to the bathroom not sure what was done to my food for complaining but I will never be back...
