Newk's Eatery — Restaurant in Texarkana

Newks is a fun place to eat. There are several things I like about the Newks in Texarkana. Starting with parking, Newks has good parking. Not exceptionally wide, but comfortable enough to not bang doors. The building itself is attractive, with a more modern look than you usually encounter in the South. Menus are posted at the entrance to the store, inside the entry way, and specials posted on the wall. Newks makes one of the best pizzas I have eaten. Oh my! The salads are crisp and fresh. Dressings are more run of the mill. The condiment bar is sparce, but exceptionally clean. I like the kitchen lay out. You may look directly into the food prep center which is spotless. The staff lacks slightly in meeting customer needs, but at other wise friendly. I had to make yep trips to obtain necessities such as eating utensils, and to go boxes. The bathrooms would pass Marine Corps muster, and there is a employee wash basin located between bathrooms. Open to the public so it is difficult for employees to skip this necessity. I love this feature. Prices are a tad over the area price, and sandwiches a little more than that. To me it is worth the price to eat clean good. I think you will...

My wife and I dined in on a Sunday. I saw a sandwich advertised on signs in the restaurant and ordered one at the counter. My wife ordered soup and a sandwich at the counter. They didn't have the soup she wanted so she settled for a different soup. We paid and sat down to wait on our orders. An attendant came to our table and told me they didn't have the sandwich I ordered, even though it was advertised throughout the restaurant, and asked me to pick out something else. I went to the menu and picked out a different sandwich but there was really nothing else I wanted but the advertised sandwich. As it turned out, the substituted sandwich was a $1.00 cheaper than my original order. I said something to the attendant who said she would mention it to the manager. As we finished our meal, no one had approached us to refund the money owed. We had to chase down the attendant who then found the manager. I didn't enjoy this experience whatsoever. Jason's Deli and McAlister's are both superior to Newk's. They at least don't advertise something...

This was my first and will be my last experience at Newks. My mom and I go to the counter after looking at the menu to order our food to go. The sand which that was clearly advertised on the menus all over they didn’t have so she had to choose something else. The pizza that we wanted they didn’t have either so we had to choose something else. We place our order and go sit down to wait in our food. They call my name to give us our order, something told me to check the bag but I didn’t. We get all the way home and the second choice sand which we had to choose wasn’t even in the bag so had to return to the restaurant to pick it up we go through the drive thru and she asked has someone helped y’all we tell her no that we are here to pick up our sand which y’all left out. She’s says o it’s ready goes and gets it and says thank you. No apology or anything. I had to drive all the way back because y’all couldnt get an order right...
