Hello my good people!!! Sooo we finally tried Taziki’s and it was just ok. We ordered the spicy harissa hummus with soft pita and that was delish. We also ordered the lamb feast with Greek salad and basmati rice. We got it to go so the pictures are from when I plated it at home. What you will see on my plate is half the portion, except for the salad. We received three small pieces of lamb which I wish were a little more tender and seasoned. It tasted more like calf liver. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing because I like liver, but I have never had lamb that tasted like liver. 🤷🏽♀️ First time for everything I guess. The rice had a bit of a twang as if they put lemon on it, but nothing really special about it. Anyhoo, I am still considering whether I would go back or not. But I invite you all to try for yourself. Maybe you will have a different experience. One thing I will say is with them being so busy I expected a long wait but the line was moving along pretty quickly and if you are ordering to go, you do that on the right side of the counter and skip the longer line of people dining in. I think there is also a drive thru. I think we were there about 20-25 min and there were several people ahead of us. Also the lady that took our order was friendly. Well that’s all I have for you so until next time. Have a...
Read moreAfter being in the Texarkana area for over 5 years, I was happy to discover Tazikis a Mediterranean type restaurant. I went there for the first time tonight. Sadly, I was highly disappointed. In my opinion, their lamb gyro was⁹ disgusting, consisting of what I am guessing was shredded lanb soaked in overpowering vinegar leaving almost no taste of lamb. Formerly living and working in NYC and on Long Island, I went to a good number of Greek and Mediterranean restaurants frequently. I have eaten hundreds of gyros in my life, almost always lamb or lamb and beef combo. None was ever shredded meat except for tonight, all others were sliced formed meat right off of the vertical gas or electric spits. Supposedly, it came with tomato and onion, but they could not have been much stingier, in my estimation, as there were only three very small sized pieces of tomato and three or four tiny pieces of onion on my gyro. Besides those things, it also seemed skimpy overall to me. If they served gyros like that in NYC, by my guess, I think they'd probably go out of business within a month. Side salad was okay, also came with chips. Overall very disappointing to say the least. Service was excellent. So much for Greek or Mediterranean food in...
Read moreThis place stops taking any sort online or phone in orders at 8:25pm. The only way to place an order is to go in to the store physically and place an order. Pretty inconvenient and when you’re having to rush to get to the restaurant just to order. I placed an order to go for a grilled chicken kebab feast with a side of the Basmati rice. When I got home and opened up the box all there was is just the chicken kebabs. The rice is nowhere to be found. I checked the print out receipt and it even showed a side of rice on the receipt. It’s unbelievable how hard it is for some people to make a make a basic order right. The chicken kebabs was alright, too heavy in the seasoning as it was especially salty. So far there doesn’t seem to be anything special about this restaurant. I didn’t expect anything extraordinary since it’s pretty much a fast, more Americanized “Greek” restaurant but still this is below standards. I’ve tried at other fast Mediterranean restaurants at other states and it was better...
