Ling's buffet is one of the greatest. However, as a long time customer of 5 years I was met with an unpleasant surprise on today, January 8, 2019 at 2:50 pm. I usually get the carryout buffet at least once a week during regular school calendar days and my last visit was last week, the first week in January . Today the weighing scale was malfunctioning and I stood at the cashier's bar for at least 20 minutes as staff attempted to work on the technical problem. To no avail computer and scale could not sync and give me a cost of my order. The cashiers offered me some mini candies as I waited, but I told them I would like a complimentary soup. I was given a container to get my soup, but when manager came up to bar, he indicated I would have to pay $3.00 for the soup. I had already been waiting for 15 minutes with the malfunctioning scale, and I thought it would be a good gesture on the manager's part to at least offer a complimentary soup for my wait as well as my inconvenience. As time kept moving, I finally told the cashier and manager that I would pay the adult buffet cost since they were unable to weigh my buffet meal. However, manager indicated that I could not have the complimentary soup, and I would have to pay $3.00 in addition to the adult buffet cost. I told manager that good customer service is deserving, but not giving the complimentary soup for my wait time and inconvenience was inconsiderate. He just shucked it off and said "goodbye", and no "thank you." Needless to say, as a returning customer I was very disappointed on the customer service. There are many venues in our community, and I will visit them. Ling's is history. It's not the cost, it's the principle...
Read moreI do not do many of these reviews, but after reading some of these negative reviews I felt I had to. Our family (which includes two teenage boys) have been going to Lings for years and it is their (and my) favorite local all you can eat Chinese buffet.
Not only is it good, but it is consistently good over many many visits. On the rare occasion a few things will be off but they are after all human. But the vast majority of times we go it puts any other all you can eat Chinese buffet to SHAME.
They have 12+ different kinds of sushi, lot's of seafood, and a ton of quality hot food items spanning 2 long double sided lines.
Even their deserts are good, and Chinese Buffets are known for bad deserts. (the almond cookies are killer).
To top it all off they are super friendly and genuine when you walk in and when you walk out. The servers are always very on top of things and friendly and courteous.
They have to be doing something right if they are above average just about every time we go and we go at least twice a month, for years.
Treat yourself to the best. The price did go up slightly this year but they...
Read moreI usually never leave reviews, but the way my family and I were treated here was unacceptable. This is supposed to be a buffet, yet each of us only managed to get one plate of food before we were essentially pushed out.
From the moment we sat down, the waitress was hovering uncomfortably close, watching us like we were doing something wrong. She was clearly rushing us, grabbing plates while we were still eating, constantly checking in not to offer help or hospitality, but to subtly pressure us to wrap it up. At one point, she even asked if we were "already full," as if trying to discourage us from going back for more food. At a buffet, no less.
The entire experience was awkward and unwelcoming. We didnât feel like guests, we felt like a burden. It completely ruined what was supposed to be a relaxed family meal. We left hungry, uncomfortable, and honestly shocked at how poorly we were treated.
Needless to say, we will never be returning. If youâre looking for a place where your business is actually appreciated,...
