Honest Review: The Last Stop Saloon is a great spot to have a meal. I would say it is a bit overpriced for the food, that being said. It was a great experience overall. I had the frenchie. The bread roll was so soft & tender, crispy on the inside just how I enjoy it. The beef was crispy & juicy, the cheese was melted to perfection. The au jus may be the best I have ever had. My husband ordered the Ruben. He loved every bite. He didn’t love that there was a lot of extra garnish on the top of the potato salad. It may have been better if it was served on the plate as opposed to in a bowl. My son ordered the saloon burger. He was thrilled with it, being on the autism spectrum, he didn’t touch his burger (he will eat it later). He filled up on onion rings. Which he enjoyed immensely, except the outside he said was “a little too crispy for me”, however, my husband and I loved them. So that was just a matter of preference. My brother asked for a Guinness when we first walked in. They were out of Guinness, so he ordered a corona instead. He also ordered the chicken fettuccine. He did complain of it being a bit bland. When I tasted it, I thought it tasted great. Possibly just needed a bit more salt. It had a nice flavor of rosemary & garlic. I suggested he add some salt, which he did & was happy with it. The toast that came on the side was perfectly crispy, which he loved. There were no paper towels in the women’s restroom. But, it did appear as though there was only one server working the whole restaurant. She can’t be faulted, for that being the case, she did an excellent job! Overall, the experience was lovely. The server did great. Waters, food, etc. she was working hard to keep up & she ensured we had great service. Payment at the end was a bit slow. But she was getting busy. I would definitely come here again.

I have eaten here for both dinner and breakfast. Both times I have loved not only the food, but also the atmosphere. You can tell the new owners really poured their heart and soul into the property. This is quickly becoming my favorite spot in The Dalles. It has several TV's that play sports in the evening, so it is a great location to stop by and have a few while watching the game. It has updated walls, lights, and many other small details that make this the new go to place! Also in a town that routinely has slow service, I am extremely impressed at the speed and accuracy of this establishment!

I've been here twice in a week and both times my medium rare steak was really good. The first time it was perfect, a little more like medium well the second time (pictured) but still very good. The soups are home made. The baked potato is fantastic. Live music both times. Friendly bar tenders. I'll probably stop here every time I pass through. For improvement, the veggie is cooked frozen broccoli it seems which is not the best. However at least they add lots of cheese!

I would like to preface this by saying I absolutely love the last stop and their food. I have never had a bad interaction here before and every other time we have been here the staff and the food has been above expectations. We tried to have drinks and dinner on Friday April 16th. We arrived at 8pm. Carrie the bartender seated us and was our waitress. She was pleasant and asked what we wanted to drink. 2 of us had huckleberry mules and the other 2 wanted a non sweet cider. One of the 2 women asked about a pineapple which she said they didn't have but she recommended the pear as a non sweet. I ordered an appetizer of their delicious pretzels and cheese. She brought our drinks out and the cider was very sweet. Our huckleberry mules were delicious. When she came back I told her the ciders were very sweet and we would like to get something else. She immediately had a look on her face, the sweet energy she had was gone and a hardened frustrated energy was there in its place. She asked what we wanted and since we had never recieved a drink menu one of the girls asked do you have something like a pineapple. She stated in a stern voice "I told you we don't have pineapple" and walked away. After about 10 minutes one of the ladies walked up to the bar where Carrie was and she was talking about us and our table. My friend asked if we could get a drink Carrie said "what do you want" again we had not been given a drink menu. My friend said "I don't know what the girls want, can we get a drink menu"? Then Carrie said "I have the right to refuse service to anyone". At this point my friend came back to the table and was explaining what happened. Another server came up and told us she would serve us. We asked her what had happened and she couldn't tell us. I was uncomfortable staying and eating not knowing if something would be done to our food or knowing there was no resolution to what had happened. (We did ask to talk to the owner or manager and we were told Carrie was the manager). I asked the second server for our bill because I didn't feel right not paying and didn't want that to be another bad interaction. So I paid and am still unsure of what happened. What caused us to be a problem table. I worked in the service industry for years and have never treated a customer like this. I am very sad at this interaction. I will be back but it will take me a long time. I will try and go talk to the owner or manager. I hope that this was an isolated incident and that maybe it was just a bad day thing. I really hope Carrie knows that I don't hold it against her. I hope whatever was going on that it...

We we're told (by Zim's staff) that the Last Stop Saloon had a really good mac n cheese, which we were craving. We arrived a little after 9 p.m. and were surprised by live music, Yay!!! The "bartender " noticed us after we finally said "hey" and not before. We ordered our drinks and requested a sample of a local liquor we were curious about. It took 2 more times requesting it from 2 different bartenders over an hour before we recieved it; took a sip that we didn't enjoy but were still charged for a full shot when we had only requested a taste(okay???) We were offered "doubles " on our drinks, but they seemed like a 1 1/4oz and not 2 oz (proof that I can still write this review in a knowledge way after 2 drinks which is not my norm). Even though we kept expressing our desire to order food, we were continually put on "hold" due to the bartenders desire to continue chatting with her friends and co-workers. They eventually took our order, and after 30 minutes, they advised us they didn't have what we requested, so we had to substitute penne or macaroni noodles to fettuccine noodles. It took an additional 30++ minutes (it definitely seemed like way more, but I didn't time it) to get our food. 1 person got an addition to their order that they didn't request, but they chose to accept because they were worried about getting their food in a timely manner. Whoever the owner or GM may be, they should re-asses their staffing for more welcoming and engaging/attentive staff. Wish I had more gossip for them to pay attention to good paying and typically phenomenal tipping customers, but they are obviously not interested in new patrons. (Zim's was an amazing venue with very welcoming & attentive staff). I now understand why the venue was so empty. We are disappointed to know we can't support this local venue. Food is super good by the time we got it. We really enjoyed the live music. Staff, much...
