River City Saloon has officially landed in town, and after two visits—one for dinner and drinks, and another for a casual lunch—I can confidently say this place is off to a strong start.
The space itself is welcoming, with plenty of seating options: plenty of tables, bar stools lining the walls, and even some fun extras like a pool table, poker table, and a small stage that promises live music in the evenings. It has that lively saloon-meets-modern-bar vibe that works whether you’re there for a meal or just drinks.
Now, let’s talk food. The standout for me was the turkey sandwich—loaded with sharp cheddar and a surprisingly perfect fig jam. It was so good I went back the very next day just to have it again. I also sampled their freshly sliced fries and the tater tots both of which hit the mark for solid bar sides. Even the bread and butter was good, which says a lot.
Drinks were just as impressive. Their Bloody Mary is a must—flavorful and balanced. Bartenders were friendly, attentive, and fast, even on a packed Friday night. The food also came out quickly, which was a pleasant surprise given how busy it was.
Overall, River City Saloon is a great new spot to unwind, grab a bite, or catch some live music. Whether you’re in it for the turkey sandwich or the cocktail list, it’s well worth a...
Read moreBeen here many times as a local and service industry professional. During a live music event tonight, obviously the bartenders were stressed, but that seems to be expected with a venue bar.
Male bartender in plaid was just rude. Extremely rude. Not sure what his problem was. He works at a busy bar. Maybe it was a particularly bad night, but he made me uncomfortable with how rude he was; I seemed to be an inconvenience by doing what profits his livelihood.
Later, I asked for a double from the female bartender. As a bartender myself, I know how many seconds equal a shot (1.5 oz). She poured for about 2 seconds, which is less than a standard shot. I asked her about it and she said it was a double. I asked the other bartender and he said he wasn't there to see it happen. I paid the full bill anyway.
Anyway, all around disappointment for a night in which I had to pay $5 cover for a show that ended at 12 (I arrived at 11:35). I...
Read moreUsed Google Maps to find a spot to eat and have a drink. We chose River City. Great experience from walking in to walking out. Greeted fairly quick and given menus and water. Menu had an eclectic choice of items like cocktails to beer and appetizers to entrees. Definitely steps above your average bar food. Service was very friendly and attentive. Server was very knowledgeable and gave great recommendations and directed us to the specials board. Relaxed atmosphere for sure which is what I prefer. Great set up for sports games, live bands, even noticed a DJ booth. If I lived here River City Saloon would be my hang out. Thanks very much to our server who we think was the manager (well done, you obviously lead a great team) and the rest of the...
