The River City Saloon — Restaurant in Hood River

Been here many times as a local and service industry professional. During a live music event tonight, obviously the bartenders were stressed, but that seems to be expected with a venue bar.

Male bartender in plaid was just rude. Extremely rude. Not sure what his problem was. He works at a busy bar. Maybe it was a particularly bad night, but he made me uncomfortable with how rude he was; I seemed to be an inconvenience by doing what profits his livelihood.

Later, I asked for a double from the female bartender. As a bartender myself, I know how many seconds equal a shot (1.5 oz). She poured for about 2 seconds, which is less than a standard shot. I asked her about it and she said it was a double. I asked the other bartender and he said he wasn't there to see it happen. I paid the full bill anyway.

Anyway, all around disappointment for a night in which I had to pay $5 cover for a show that ended at 12 (I arrived at 11:35). I...

Used Google Maps to find a spot to eat and have a drink. We chose River City. Great experience from walking in to walking out. Greeted fairly quick and given menus and water. Menu had an eclectic choice of items like cocktails to beer and appetizers to entrees. Definitely steps above your average bar food. Service was very friendly and attentive. Server was very knowledgeable and gave great recommendations and directed us to the specials board. Relaxed atmosphere for sure which is what I prefer. Great set up for sports games, live bands, even noticed a DJ booth. If I lived here River City Saloon would be my hang out. Going there this morning to complain. I Clearly wrote ZERO tip on the receipt and left $5 cash on the bar. When I got my receipt this morning they had added a tip of 3.80!!!! The bill was only 18.00 total and I left 5. Either they're a dishonest establishment or they have a thief for am employee!!! Either way I will not return. Watch your receipts here!!! UPDATE: I went in and Joe explained it was his fault and he must have done it by mistake as he was helping his staff get thru a busy night with a lot of paperwork.
