I always enjoy my time at Canton. It's never messy. It smells good, fresh and the big areas make me feel like I want to eat here. I never get boxed in. I think the people are so nice and the waitress staff are helpful and polite and always do everything you ask. The menu is big and the food is above average. On the way to the Oregon coast, stop in and feed everyone in the caravan at the same time in the same room for a low price plus some. Bathrooms are top notch. Clean and clean. Always a solid choice for food or if you like drinks. A stiff one. Stiffest in town I heard. I don't sauce it much but if I did I would want it to be at Canton Wok. A plus for the tranquility and buss you will get. It is bussin bussin. Come eat here folks

Very quiet, Our server was super friendly and awesome. The restaurant and the restrooms were clean. The decor was tired and dated. The food was, as another reviewer said, "unexciting Americaized Chinese food." My sweet & sour shrimp had cold spots, and over cooked chewy spots and was just a plate of frozen, breaded, fried shrimp and super red sweet & sour drizzled over. No fresh veggies or pineapple. We tried the orange chicken, and the chicken was super dry and stringy. We got a bowl of white rice that looked like it was left over from lunch. The outside of the scoop of rice was dull and hard.

This is a no frills American-Chinese food restaurant. The food is entirely Americanized with many deep fried, sweet-sauced classics. We had combo dinners of fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, and chicken subgum. We also had the cashew nut chicken and general Tso's chicken. The food was okay. The service was attentive without being annoying. If I wanted unexciting but palatable Americanized Chinese food, I'd go back to Canton wok.

Updated to 3 stars from 1 star after 2 more visits 3rd time eating hear would be a 3 star. for a total of 3 star average from the other times. We got the same server as the first time and she did a very good job this time taking our orders and making sure we had everything we needed. Food came out quick and were very LARGE portions. The three orders we had 1 was very good I even sampled, the other was good but not a lot of flavor, I sampled as well. Mine was also lacking on a little flavor and the pork fried rice was not good. It was lacking flavor, was red instead of golden brown and very dry this is why a give it a 3 star this time. 2nd time eating here 4.5 stars Was quite impressed this time. Different server was very friendly and quick to take our order also made sure we had everything we needed several times while eating. The meals were large and we were all happy with our meals over all. Now that was a HUGE improvement I must say. 1 time eating here 1 Star. Ate here today for the first time. Everyone had told us it was great. We must of came on a VERY bad day. They were busy and to start they cleaned the booth off by wiping the table and lots of spilt rice ended up on the seat then brushed to the floor with lots of rice on the floor. We sat down and it took quite awhile to get a server then a long wait to get our order taken think they need to hire more servers. We ordered the house plate appetizer and 3 lunch orders. The crab puffs were very chewy on the appetizer platter but everything else was good. My meal came out a short time after the other two. My meal was pretty good but a little bland. I tried my girlfriends Mongolian beef meal and it was horrible she ate some and took the rest home We should of just left it. Ended up throwing it away. I asked for more red sauce when I got my meal and never got it. I even tried to get the servers attention and she just kept walking. I stopped eating my meal and just took it home. Getting red sauce to go was almost as hard as the first time. Guess they don't want you to have any. We might give them one more try and hope it is as good as everyone has said or at least better. That won't be anytime soon after...

I recently had an unfortunate experience with Canton Wok in The Dalles, Oregon, that I feel compelled to share. My order from this restaurant for takeout resulted in food poisoning, and the way the situation was handled over the phone was deeply disappointing.

After consuming the food from Canton Wok, my companions and I fell ill and it became evident that the food was the cause. We immediately contacted the restaurant to inform them about the issue. However, the response we received from the staff over the phone was far from satisfactory. Instead of showing concern or offering any assistance, they flat out refused to refund our money. Their disrespectful response was simply, "No refund," leaving us feeling disheartened and disrespected.

Dealing with food poisoning is already distressing, but the lack of responsibility and customer service demonstrated by Canton Wok made the situation even worse. In such cases, a refund is not only expected but also a basic measure of accountability and respect towards the customers who have had a negative experience.

Aside from this unfortunate incident, I must also mention that the overall experience with Canton Wok was disappointing. The quality of the food did not meet our expectations, and the customer service over the phone was disrespectful and unhelpful. The staff seemed disinterested and failed to address our concerns, which made the situation even more frustrating.

Based on my experience, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend Canton Wok to others. The lack of accountability and the disrespectful treatment over the phone are major concerns that indicate a disregard for customer satisfaction. When it comes to takeout, it is crucial for a restaurant to prioritize the quality of food and customer service, which Canton Wok failed to do.

I hope that Canton Wok takes this review constructively and reflects on their approach to customer service. It is essential for any establishment to prioritize the well-being of its customers and provide a positive dining experience, even in the case of...

The restaurant was clean, well lit. There were two servers to attend the main eating area as well as the bar area. If you're not ready to immediately order off the Extensive menu be prepared for a bit of a wait before you see the server again. I finally had to hail ours several times before he reappeared at our table to take our order. The Egg Flower soup was very good, nicely flavored. However, the packaged cracker served with it was unetable. Ordered #1 from Combination menu...Huge amount of food and all was very good with the exception of the battered 4 piece deep fried shrimp, which was like rubber and tasted old and somewhat 'musty'. Needless to say didn't eat it. When our sever brought the bill he inquired as to how the food was. I told him it was good with exception of the shrimp and why. He said, "that's too bad. Don't blame me". Almost as if it were a regular occurrence. He left the bill and walked away. That was my experience and I doubt I'll be going back...
