My daughters and I were looking for a place to have breakfast after going to the doctor and we stumbled upon this place. The décor inside is cute, which of course we like. We also like that it was Aussie themed because my daughter is a huge bluey fan.
I got the lemon ricotta as a side order and had the toppings on because I didn't want a very heavy breakfast, side of crispy potatoes and the vegetarian breakfast sandwich with coffee and the bambino drink, which was perfect for my toddler.
I want to say first off that our service was great. The girl who took our order and seated us was great, and kept checking up on us. I wish I knew her name, she was fantastic.
But literally everything that we got was cold, even though none of it was supposed to be a cold order. It was either cold or it was room temperature. The breakfast potatoes were cold when we got it, and the pancakes were a little colder than room temperature . My daughter took one bite of her breakfast sandwich and immediately said that she didn't like it, and that the bun was hard and cold.
I would have brought this up to the attention of the waitress, but I could see that she was quite busy because she was working the outside tables as well as the inside table. I'm not sure if this is a regular occurrence, since this was our first time here, but it was quite busy to just have one waitress going around with a couple of other people that were bringing out the food. I did like the ricotta lemon pancakes.
The table was sticky from the get go, I wish I had my diaper bag still so I could wipe the table down with water wipes. It had marks from where the water was and had that gross water residue. The bathroom was very dirty, disgustingly so, and I really didn't even want to put my toddler on the seat because of how dirty it was. Another con is that they don't accept cash, but I guess that's becoming more common, but it's also weird that they don't refills on black coffee. They brought a cup of room temperature coffee and wanted to charge for another cup when I wanted a hot one. This is definitely another con.
If they can clean the bathrooms and tables, and serve hot food and drinks, I would come more often because I liked the vibe and...
Read moreExecutive summary: poor food, slow service, too expensive for low quality product. The atmosphere is quant but crowded. The wait to be seated is right in front of the door so anyone coming in for to-go orders is constantly asking you to move out of the way. This wouldnât be a problem but the service was so slow we waiting around 14âin just to be acknowledged (tables were available and many servers just walked straight past ignoring us). We then sat at our table reviewing the menu long enough, we were going to order through the site for a pick up order, before the server had even introduced herself⊠After ordering we waited so long that I genuinely thought they forgot about us. Then finally a drink came out. No food yet. We needed to wait another 23min for that, along with my now melted coffee float that tasted like hotel coffee with creamer. I received my order only to discover the $19 BL Big Brekkie, that had a picture of, what looked like a steak, was indeed not steak. It was just a picture of an abysmally burnt piece of toastâŠI was shocked. $19 dollars for avocado toast with mushrooms and cherry tomatoes?! The ingredients were with $3! It wasnât even seasoned. My wife got the breakfast bowl, it looked soggy and she said it was mid. The turmeric coffee was gritty and just tasted like turmeric. Not flavored well. The strawberry matcha cloud was the saving grace. Only good thing we received.

Read moreI was really excited to try Bluestone Lane. We had been to the one downtown, and actually last night, I was at the one in Newark Airport.
Today, I went with the family - my husband and 2 x 11 year olds. Let's start with coffee. As Aussies, we know and love a good flat white. We ordered two, and they didn't disappoint. They were large but flavorful.
Food wise, I ordered lemon ricotta pancakes. They were served full to the brim in a little cast iron skillet. 3 pancakes with a heap of ricotta, some berries, and some lemon curd on top decorated with edible flowers and syrup on the side. A little too much ricotta for my personal taste. I needed the syrup to add a little sweetness. Overall, I enjoyed them, but I think I would try something different next time.
My husband ordered the BLATE. It looked delicious. Bacon, lettuce, avocado, tomato and egg on a toasted bun with potato wedges on the side.
The girls had a side of pancakes and some scrambled eggs and halloumi. They were happy. The Aussie iced choc was a hit, especially when they worked out it had ice cream, too. The other ordered a hot chocolate. She loved the cocoa powder on top.
We were happy with our meal. Service was good, and wait time was as to be expected on a busy Sunday morning. The manager and staff checked on us numerous times, which was appreciated.
We'll be back for sure for this little slice of home in...
