I'll start by saying the staff is absolutely wonderful, the rooms are well kept, clean, spacious, everything one would expect. But it was the little things that really got me about this location. Maybe it's just me, but I assumed after dropping over $3,500 on a hotel room that breakfast would be included on some level, even if it was just granola bars or something. I did not in my wildest dreams expect $20+ piece of toast with a small egg, and that was the cheapest item on the breakfast menu. That just seems greedy at that point . Several things like that I came across during my stay with things you would think would be included at a hotel demanding those kinds of prices for a room, only to find so much not only wasn't included, the price markups of 200% and higher were truly disgusting to the point that I will never stay at a Hyatt or it's affiliates ever again .
Edit: One day after leaving this original review I was asked to leave at 8:00 p.m. at night after getting back from being in the ICU in the hospital all day. The woman claiming to be the operations manager claimed they had seen paraphernalia in my room and offered me no proof after I requested seeing what they were talking about , told me I needed to leave. I found this very strange happening the day after leaving a negative review. I should add that I was in the hospital for extremely degenerative Progressive medical issue that is quickly taking away my ability to walk and then it will shut down my arms and lastly my lungs. At this point I'm lucky to be able to crawl around a room to get from point A to point b, and even that is extremely painful.so I packed up a room full of music equipment and clothes that I had spent a day and a half unpacking because I was going to be at this hotel for 12 days. So it took me 4 hours of excruciatingly painful packing literally crawling across the floor trying to get everything into suitcases. Finally at 10:30 at night I had to crawl three stories out into the parking lot on concrete on my hands and knees being laughed at by by their patrons coming in the door and offered absolutely no help from any of their staff. Needless to say I was not offered any kind of refund but to put the icing on the cake they tried to charge my card for a bottle of water that was drunk after all of this. This place is absolutely absurd and inhuman and just downright wrong. I will be contacting local news stations to try and get the story covered because the way that they handled this was...
Read moreThis was my first time booking a “fancy” hotel. I used Booking . com (they were wonderful) in early May for my husbands birthday and a concert in mid August. It was, overall, a terrible experience. Since this was something I’d never done before (other than the occasional rooms from “lower class” places for hurricane evacuations and such) I read, and re-read everything I was sent. I was informed of a pre-hold on my card, then the charge would be made. It also says in the confirmation paperwork, that the $405, already paid, was the only thing that would be due at my arrival time, no mention of any other holds, or we would have prepared, only showing the credit card and my drivers license for security purposes. We drove over 2 hours, after both my husband and I had been working all day, on a rainy night to arrive. When we arrived, around 11 pm, (we had made arrangements for a later check in), we were asked for a security deposit. Now, normally this wouldn’t have been a big deal, but as we had recently been through an emergency medical situation, the credit card used for booking was past its limit, and since I’d read everything to be prepared, and had been assured I’d incur no other fees upon arrival… I did not bring another credit card, and they would not accept my cash for my deposit… even though I was able to show where, in their own confirmations, I was told I’d already been charged the total amount. They would not accommodate us. They need to update their information. Or let people know there’s a dress code, and if you “look poor” (or, in our case are “poor”) because my husband was still in his grease stained work clothes and boots, I have blue hair, was wearing pajamas and slippers and had been up since 3 am for my own job. Overall, feel like this would fall under some type of false advertisement. Their guidelines should be updated. I won’t attempt another stay here or any Hyatt related establishments, because I feel upon walking in we were deemed “too poor” for this establishment.
They have finally agreed to a FULL refund since we had actually shown up and attempted our stay. It does not make me feel better. We’ve been married over 10 years and have 4 children, it’s often hard to arrange a weekend alone for ourselves, and having been as prepared as I could with the information given- I feel they absolutely ruined our vacation, and it was their fault for not having their own...
Read moreFor being a Centric, I had higher hopes. While the staff was generally attentive and would go out of their way to say Hi, there were a handful of concerns that shouldn't have been. Right away upon arriving, there is a limited area to 'park' to drop off bags. As there was room for 2 cars parked parallel to the curb, it was assumed to park that way as it's in a busier mall area. No sooner had I parked, then the hotel attendant rushs over and tells me I'm parking wrong and to back perpendicular to the curb with front hanging out into the street more than I felt comfortable with.
Wasn't quite sure if attendant was there to actually help or angling for a tip, which made getting bags out of the car cumbersome as I usually do things myself.
Hotel was alright in general, but nothing special.
Biggest concern came the last night/morning as there was a very loud man and he so happened to room next to us. In a building choice I never appreciate, our rooms had one of those pass through doors that I don't think anyone ever thinks to soundproof or build out of anything more penetrable than cardboard. We could hear his very loud, animated conversation with someone at 5 a.m. while in his room. Unfortunately, this woke our party of 5 up when we had just flew into Houston the day before and had a early morning depature from the hotel.
Upon checking out, we learned that the party next door to us had caused quite a few people on our floor to complain and as a feeble attempt to rectify, offered breakfast to our family as we were leaving. We were unable to partake due to our plans.
After checkout, we were billed $6 each for water, which the front end staff gladly gave to us and said was complementary.
Reaching out to management was an exercise that was not worth the effort. Management needed numerous emails to rectify the water issue and never fully addressed the noisy neighbor.
Not the kind of treatment I've had before...
