The food was alright, but the service wasn’t great. To start off, my boyfriend ordered a crab bisque but when it was brought to the table, they forgot to give him a spoon. After waiting a few minutes for someone to walk by, we were finally able to ask one of the hostess if she could ask someone to bring a spoon. She agreed and said she would. Since we we were sat near the front of the restaurant, I was able to see her just walk back to the host desk and do nothing, she didn’t tell anyone to bring us a spoon. We were eventually able to get a spoon after flagging down the nice guy that also brought us the food (I don’t remember his name but he had dark hair and said aloha). For my meal, I ordered the roasted vegetable bowl. When our food arrived, I noticed that my bowl was missing several ingredients that were listed on the menu (like avocado, wonton strips, almonds, etc). After a while our waitress finally came to check on us and I was able to tell her that they forgot to give me several ingredients. She went back to the kitchen to bring them to me, and then she informed me that she accidentally gave me the “seasonal roasted vegetables” dish and not the “roasted vegetable bowl” like I ordered. I told her it was okay, since I had already eaten over half of my food. My issue was that at the end of the meal, I was charged for the seasonal roasted vegetables, which is $19, opposed to the $12.50 price on the actual dish I ordered. So I had to pay for a meal I did not order, because the waitress messed up my order. On top of this, we ordered their chocolate “molten cake” which was not a molten cake at all, but a cold weird chocolate mousse thing. We also asked if we could get a scoop of vanilla ice cream with it, which I assumed would maybe $1-2 dollars extra. The small scoop of vanilla ice cream was $4. So between the poor service from the hostess and being charged more for a meal I didn’t order, the entire experience at Tommy Bahamas was underwhelming. Our waitress was nice, but clearly doesn’t understand how to treat customers in the event that something goes wrong with the food. Tommy Bahamas should be responsible for teaching their...
Read moreWe lunched at TB in Woodlands, TX on a slow Monday afternoon. We were a little put off by the awkward reception at the hostess station. Eventually we were shown to a table and our waitress could not have been more perfect. Sadly the food was not as well healed as the waitress. My wife had the scallop sliders & soup. I ordered the Cuban sandwich. The scallops were so small that I asked the woman we believed to be the manager “is this the typical size of the scallops?” After a less than satisfactory answer the truth was that the scallops were butterflied. If we had stacked the two scallops together they would form one good sized scallop. The manager felt the tension in my question and brought to our table a paper card/coupon for a free appetizer good for another visit. The Cuban sandwich was cold. It was not pressed but simply toasted. Toasted so poorly that the meats & cheese were not hot. Eating cold pork, cold ham & cheese less than melted was not to my satisfaction. I did not eat 80% of the meal including the French fries. Another employee came to our table to offer her apologies for the sandwich & offered to “make it right”. The sandwich was removed from the check. The staff made an effort to serve another dish to my liking but I passed. The small portion of scallops served to my wife & my cold Cuban sandwich was enough of an insight to know that nothing served would reverse the embarrassment of a poor presentation for lunch. When the check arrived we were surprised to find suggested tips that reflected the full check including the Cuban that was removed. Overall it was an uncomfortable lunch. So uncomfortable that we opted to exit via the patio to avoid any more contact with the staff. We made a huge mistake in choosing Tommy Bahama for lunch! The better choice was Chipotle right...
Read more⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Tommy Bahama in The Woodlands on Market Street is hands down one of our favorite restaurants in the area. The tropical, vacation-inspired vibe instantly transports you to paradise, making it feel like you’re somewhere far away. The lively music, Hawaiian-inspired dishes, and delicious cocktails set the perfect tone for a relaxed yet upscale dining experience.
Our meal always starts with the coconut shrimp (the appetizer of choice!), the Ahi tuna tacos, or the lump blue crab bisque, which is absolutely amazing. The bisque works beautifully as a side dish or even as a main dish if we decide to share a few appetizers instead of ordering entrees. For the main course, I can’t recommend the macadamia nut-crusted red snapper enough—always perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. Dessert is a must, and while the pineapple crème brûlée is fantastic, the Piña Colada Cake is another standout choice for those with a sweet tooth.
When it comes to drinks, my go-to is the Mai Tai on the Rocks or the Piña Colada—both embody the tropical vibe of the restaurant and pair perfectly with the meal. My wife loves the lump crab salad, which is always fresh and beautifully presented. Even our kids enjoy dining here, and when the weather is nice, the back patio near the splash pad and Market Street park is ideal. The kids can run around while we relax and enjoy a nice dinner—a win-win for the whole family!
To top it off, the live music in the bar area on Fridays and Saturdays adds a lively touch to the experience and is always a hit. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just want to escape to a tropical oasis for a couple of hours, Tommy Bahama is a can’t-miss spot in The Woodlands....
