Today, I took my Girlfriend to Chili's, while we wore our masks into the building and to our table, while we were eating, they seated people to the tables behind me and in front of me (behind my girlfriend), these individuals sat as close to 2 feet away, at one point the gentlemen behind me was coughing and did have a sick sounding voice when talking to the waiter.
The complaint is this, although they have a capacity limit right now of 75%, they are seating all tables from observation, here are a few things wrong when we first arrived, we observed the bussers cleaning only the top of the table, not the sides, not the chairs, and our 2 chairs had food still on them and small person hand prints from grease on them, which I asked the person sitting us for a paper towel so I could clean the seats, she gladly gave me the paper towel and I cleaned both my and my girlfriends seats before we sat down. I observed the tables only being cleaned as the table tops, no sides or any chair during our 2 hour visit to this Chili's.
Now on to the next problem, the coughing close gentlemen, according to upper management, this is OK because the individual was not facing me. Current policy as of 10/4/2020 is that the definition of the 6 foot rule only applies to patrons facing each other, so Chili's corporate has the following to say, they only have to adhere to the 6 foot distance rule if the individuals are in a naturally forward facing position, so all tables can be used. Because the person behind me was not facing me as he was coughing 2 feet away from my back, this is no danger to me or anyone else he is near, instead, the guidelines are pretty clear that the people only count for the 6 foot rule if they are facing each other in a naturally seated position.
Being that this is a corporate rule, all Chili's adhere to this rule, 6 foot means 6 foot facing only, so if a person is not in your party, they must be at least 6 feet away only if they are not facing each other, my girlfriend had a table behind her full, it had 4 adults and 3 children, some of the kids would cough from time to time and so would a few of the adults, but corporate Chili's says this is no concern and no danger to anyone because they are not facing me as they sit and are more then 6 foot away for the person who is facing me, but the person's back who was to me and was 1 foot away from my girlfriend, that woman was coughing like her children, that is ok with Chili's because she is not facing me nor my girlfriend, but instead it is her back.
Chili's management has stated that this is following CDC guidelines as Chili's legal team has interpreted it.
During COVID-19 I personally am no longer going to visit Chili's because there guidelines are not in line with protecting there employees nor there patrons, not at this time, they are trying to fill all tables, endangering all patrons, for the sake of income and there rule of 6 feet only if you face each other, is an incorrect assumption of what CDC means for the 6 foot rule, they should have no more than every other table filled and no two tables next to each other with patrons.
The staff was very friendly, and the service was good, the food was sub par with the meats over cooked, not to mention the desert never came to us but they gave it away to other tables, they were kind enough to remove the desert from our bill and not charge us for what we never received, we also tipped the waiter 20% for his service, his company's rules and how they endanger there employees and the patrons is not his fault at all, but I highly recommend never going back until they make a public statement of this seating rule for the 6 foot facing rule so they stop endangering society with ill...
Read moreI have never in my life had a server be so entitled and rude. Here’s the story, I ordered takeout I looked online to see if Chili’s had curbside since I had my baby with me and I didn't want to get him out just to go inside and back out. The location I ordered from did say they had curbside option. I get to the restaurant and I received a text to head inside to get my order so I called inside pressed 2 to speak to a “to go team member” a woman answered the phone I informed her of what was going on I placed a to go order for curbside on the site and it wasn’t giving me a option to let them know I was there. She automatically had an attitude with me saying they no longer offered curbside, I told her it was an option when I ordered and there was nothing informing me they no longer did curbside and that’s why I had ordered. She then informed me she could talk to her manager but they usually wouldn’t let them because they had had issues with curbside. I said ok if it’s not doable I’ll cancer my order. She then just said sure and hung up. I called back got her again and said I was hung up on to which she had an attitude saying she was going to go talk to her manager I said yes but you hung up on me how am I supposed to know what’s going on if you hung up and she hung up on me again. I sat there a few minutes and here she comes walking out of the door with my door with my order. She immediately started telling me that next time I needed to just cancel I said ok? I didn’t know your site gave me the option for curbside, the signs are up in the parking lot, other cars are picked here so how was I was just supposed to know curbside was longe available if I had known it wasn’t available I wouldn’t have ordered. She just went on about I needed to cancel I said I offered if your manager said you wouldn’t be able to do it I would just cancel so I’m not sure where this attitude is coming from and she just said ok well cancel next time and walked off. She refused to give me her name and wasn’t wearing a name badge I’m sure that’s because this happens often. She had reddish brown short hair that was made to look “curly” with a lot of mousse. Also once I got home my order wasn’t even correct. There was a complete...
Read moreThis was quite possibly the worst experience I have had at a Chili's. We were waiting to be greeted and the bartender did try to get someone for us. Instead, it appeared he was told no, because he hesitated, sat us down quickly, and hurried back to his station. Thankfully, I brought toys with me, because the games on the Ziosk are definitely not worth it. Thankfully, I was blessed with a fairly patient child who happily played her game. As I was preparing to get up to peave, a waitress came by to ask us what we wanted to drink. She was friendly, so we decided to stay. However, it was quite a wait to then give our food order. Once we did, it was another long wait, but we were okay as our waitress did get us refills. Once our food arrived, the delivery of said food assisted by manager, was very apparently wrong for my husband. He had ordered a cheeseburger: buns, meat, cheese, ketchup & mayo. He was given a cheeseburger with the veggies, a sort of horse radish or dill sauce, and no ketchup or mayo. I sent it back. During this time, my daughter needed to go to the bathroom. It was clear they had not been checked recently.. There were soiled toilet paper on the floor, unflushed toilets, an empty handed soap dispenser, and a smell. We quickly concluded our business there and I ensured to sanitize her hands before she ate. Our waitress apologized for the mishap, bringing the correct order for my spouse. The food itself was okay, had some flavor. After using the Ziosk to pay our bill and preparing to leave, the waitress asked us to stay because the manager decided to discount my husband's meal. I said don't worry about it, I just want to leave. She stood hesitating and the manager came over. I readjusted the tip amount and total before signing then leaving. Grateful to be out of there, I hope to not return. Sorry for the long...
