Stopped by Kirk’s BBQ in South Holland tonight and let me tell you—these rib tips are on point! For just $18.89 after tax, I got a super tender, perfectly portioned plate that absolutely hit the spot. It’s the perfect BBQ fix without the drive into Chicago—South Holland has a gem! Just check their hours before you go. Definitely recommending Kirk’s for anyone craving good ’cue in the south burbs! #BBQReview #SouthHollandEats #RibTips #ChicagolandFood #KirksBBQ Kirk’s BBQ 16102 S Park Ave, South Holland, IL 60473 Phone: (708) 574-6001. Hey it's meHey it's me
First time visiting Kirk's Bbq. First let me say soon as we turned towards the restaurant we could smell the amazing aroma. We were excited. The staff was friendly. We ordered 2 Large Tips & 1 turkey link sandwich & 1 pork link sandwich. We walked in and ordered. We were told 45 mins to an hr wait. It was no problem for us. They ask you to wait in your car and they call you when the food is ready. When we went back to pick up the food there were like 12 ppl in line. We didn't have to wait. We just walked up got our food and left. I was very happy when I saw they do not cheat you with the portion size like most BBQ places. The large tip comes w/ fries & wheat bread. You can buy a small thing of coleslaw for $0.50. I wasnt a fan of the coleslaw. They give you a lot of sauce. The meat is seasoned very good. We liked the turkey link better than the pork link. The ribs were very good and can stand alone without the sauce. Next time I will ask for no sauce and add our own bbq sauce. Overall we were very happy with our experience and this will be our go to place. It is definitely worth trying. Just understand it may be a little wait but it's worth it. Added bonus they do take credit or debit w/ id. Some places only take cash. This was yet another bonus. The pics don't do it justice.

*UPDATE: Changing my review from 3 stars to 2 because......today I called to place an order and was told that they were not taking call in orders, and that i would have to come in and place my order and it's about a 25 minute wait. Seriously!?!?! What kind of place doesn't take call in orders? So now, I have to drive 25 minutes there.....to place my order......then sit and wait 25 minutes, which will more than likely be longer than 25 minutes anyway. That's just an even bigger waste of time. Absolutely ridiculous, i ordered from somewhere else that DOES take call in orders. I for sure won't be back here now. *

I wish I could give them more than 3 stars....but I can't. The rib tips, hot links and chicken are usually always good. I don't like the sauce at all.....but I can do without that.

But it's about more than just the food. Every time I've gone here, they tell you a certain time on the phone, and my order has never been ready in that time. Last time, I ordered and went in almost 25 minutes later. I still waited 45 minutes in the restaurant just for a tip/link combo.

For me, it's not worth waiting over an hour. Or if it is going to take that long, have the courtesy to tell your customers and let them make the decision on if they want to wait an hour or not. What if I was on my lunch break from work? And I had a certain time I had to be back, and was counting on the fact that my food would be ready when they said it would? If they could get the orders ready within a reasonable time, it would be a go to...

Stay away from catering orders. They cater as if they don’t trust the very community that they’re servicing. I called and spoke with a very unprofessional Nicole who didn’t pick up and state her name (not all that well spoken which matches their business practices). I tried to give them my business for a catering order. Nicole said that they couldn’t accept payment over the phone and that I would need to drive 2 hours to order in person 24 hours ahead of my catering order and another 2 hours the day of my catering. Nichole wanted to know if the order was for a business catering order or myself because I‘d called from my work number. I countered that the order was personal. Nicole said that I would need to come in to pay in person (despite me explaining that I reside 2 hours away from their establishment).I asked if I could come in the “day of” to order and she declined stating that Saturday is their busiest day. Nicole said that she would reach out to the owners wife and call me back with an answer which NEVER happened. Needless to say I took my business to the a more viable and reputable company who have better business practices and the ability to collect payment over the phone for catering as opposed to the circus that Kirks is running and they WERE able to get me set up to pick my order up from afar. “Other owned” versus black owned.....This is why you can’t do business with...

First off let me say I love kirks. Never had a problem with them. My sister and brother eat here all the time. Today though was unbelievable. My daughter and I stopped by on our way home and ask the cashier do they have mini turkey tips. She responded yes. I get my receipt and realize she charged me for a mini pork tip. I take the receipt back and advised her we asked sis she have mini turkey she said no we didn’t. Not going to argue with anyone she called someone to fix the order then told her a small turkey tip. Thinking my order fixed when we get it they gave us a small jerk turkey tip which I cannot eat. I go back in to explain again the cashier and another girl told me basically I was lying and repeated my order to me which again a lie. So another older lady came and ask me what happen I tell her so you hear the girl in the back talking about I’m not fixing it again so you need to call Kirk. Just rude. I told them my daughter would keep the jerk but I can’t eat it. The older lady comes back I’m assuming talked to Kirk and he tells her not to replace my order because his cashier said she went over my order which she messed it up 2 times, but let me not add the cashier shuts the door in my face. Rude and very disrespectful all around. The other part of me could of went left, but why. They young and I educated and it Kirk has this type of employee or employees you can have...
