LATEST REVIEW We tried a new beef ramen with a spicy level of 2 stars. My husband thought it was very spicy. The broth was full of beef flavor and was very clean. It came with generous portions of corn, seaweed, bok choy, and mushrooms. The beef slices were good as well. I ordered a 4-star spicy level Tonkotsu ramen. I haven't tried 5 stars, but I think 4 stars is my favorite level. It was just spicy enough. It wasn't extremely spicy, but I enjoyed the flavor profile. UPDATED REVIEW Still another five stars rating. I have been back for more ramen many times now. I accidentally tried 3 stars on spiciness and find that I can definitely try 4 stars next time. I also had their bamboo shoots. Like I said in the past review that I am not a fan of bamboo shoots. However I find that their bamboo shoots are pickled and rid of that nasty taste. I had the same tonkotsu ramen but noticed a lack of black garlic flavor. Do I need to request it? Please let me know if that is the case. I love black garlic and was a little disappointed that I couldn't quite taste it this time. I was also happy to see a whole japanese seasoned egg! OLD REVIEW Oh I have just discovered my favorite ramen restaurant in Portland. Their tonkotsu ramen is the best with a subtle hint of black garlic. The ramen came out chewy which was perfect. The soup stock was rich. I drank it all up. It came with a whole soy sauce egg (perhaps could be a little more soft), seaweed, lots of mushrooms, vegetable and thin slices of char siu. Five stars of spice levels to choose from. I wish I could get even more black garlic and then it would have been a bowl of perfect ramen!

Best veggie ramen I have ever had, still after 2 years of consistenly eating here almost once a week! Our toddler loves this place and asks to go there multiple times a week. Service is SO friendly. Food is consistently delicious and comforting. The topings and the flavor of the veggie ramen is the best! We have tried several other places through door dash and you just can’t beat this place for flavor and price. If you can handle some spice try 2 for good flavor and if you can handle even more spice, try 3 spice level for wonderful flavor depth, that’s what I always get. To those people that struggle with service level, you are eating in the grocery store, literally at the bar. You can’t get that quality food for this price anywhere else. Also, if bar seating is all taken, you can still order and eat at the store food court. They will bring you the food and that may be a better choice for elderly or small children....

I hesitate to add another 5 star review because I want this place to stay "secret". This ramen place is legit. The tonkatsu is very solid. as good as any place I've had in Portland metro area. serving size is above average. pork was delicious and tender. the egg was perfect, soft yolk. price is very competitive at $12. ambience is in a grocery store so its not exactly restaurant vibes but its cozy. staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive. free tea is a nice plus. seating is limited but there is spillover seating in the deli dining area, not classy but if you're after the best deal on ramen in town, who cares. only (small) critique is it could have had a tad more toppings and there's lots of foot traffic near as it's at the entrance of the store but I kind of like how informal it is. don't...
