Maaaaan it feels SO GOOD to finally have found a great pho place after moving to the area. In the year we've been around Beaverton/Portland, we have tried so hard to find a Vietnamese restaurant that consistently serves top tier pho. Even driving all the way to East Portland, we were just coming up short, or we'd find a place that's great once, then mediocre the next time.
Not so with VinaDeli! Having been three times now, I can say confidently that this place is the real deal. Broth that can bring the soul back to your body, with a shimmering layer on top that indicates you KNOW you got the good stuff. Like, Greek mythology tells the tale of Narcissus, who fell in love with his own reflection in the water and drowned, but I'm falling in love with this soup and drowning in it sounds like a pretty darn good way to go. The noodle texture is perfect silky smooth, and the satay sauce they serve with it is the best I've had outside of Vietnam, and would easily contend there too. There aren't many places where I'll down the entire bowl, broth and all, but I'd take a Stanley mug full of just the broth and drink this stuff all day. Seriously. Who needs water when you can drink this pho broth? (Note to self: ask doctor if this is feasible)
Bonus: they happened to make Pandan waffles today, and I don't know if I've ever had a better waffle in my life. Eat your heart out IHOP, VinaDeli has beaten you at your own game.
This is THE spot now for us for pho. I haven't even tried the banh mi yet, because I'm afraid if it's as good as the rest, we're gonna need to sell our house and move so I can be within walking distance.
(Oh and the staff is super friendly too, they started recognizing us on just the 2nd time in and are incredibly warm and...
Read moreWhat a treasure this place is. My daughter and I just happened upon this place one morning as she wasn’t feeling well before school. I suggested soup, but most places don’t serve soup before 10am. I got the traditional Bahn Mi and my daughter got the Chicken Noodle soup. Let me just say, the Bahn Mi, is the best one I’ve ever had. I’m not usually a morning eater, but I ate the entire thing, it was delightful. My daughter’s soup was absolutely scrumptious. The meat, the broth, my gosh, I would put the broth in a thermos and drink it for breakfast or really anytime. This places not only feeds your belly with savory deliciousness, but fills your soul. You can tell the food here is made with love. The staff are beautiful and friendly. I am beyond happy to have found this little spot. I live in Portland and eat a lot of Pho, and this place takes the cake. It’s going one hard for me to go anywhere else. Thankfully I’m in Tigard weekly, so getting my fix of all the amazingness we found in this spot won’t be hard. We’ll definitely be back.
Thank you Vina Deli for the delicious and beautiful, soul filling experience. We appreciate and feel lucky to have found you....
Read moreThese folks are so incredibly kind and sweet. That would be reason enough to come in. I always enjoy sharing a warm greeting with everyone behind the counter. Definitely go for their bánh mì, the baguettes are incredible. The vietnamese style of baking is wonderful, a soft interior and a crispy flaky exterior, and impeccable flavor. The meats I've tried have always been nicely cooked and seasoned, and the veggies fresh and crunchy. Exactly what I want in bánh mì! The thai iced coffee is also not to be missed! Strong, flavorful coffee paired with sweetened condensed milk, I believe. I am not usually one for super sweet drinks; but this one so uniquely pairs with the bitterness of the coffee, neither flavor is lost, but each quite compliments the other! To top it all off, the owner will make small batches of condiments that are absolutely delicious. I bought a jar of chili crisp that was finished off in less than a week, I put it on everything.
