I've had a handful of experiences here and this will be the third time I have to edit my review to accurately describe the experiences.
The first time we ate here we ate alot of our meal and then I found a black hair in my food. I have blonde hair. So it wasn't mine. When I brought it up to the waitress she said the owner said we ate too much for any refund. However, I literally didn't see it in my food until near end. When I personally spoke to the owner he said it must be my hair and basically saying I was trying to get a free meal. Again it was a black hair I have blonde which I informed him. He didn't care.
We didn't go back for a while. We gave them another chance and everything was fine. Meal was good. Pricey but good. Waitresses are hit or miss with attitude. So we have been back several times.
Yesterday I went and here's the experience. Hello,
Yesterday me and a friend ate at your restaurant. We have been there several times never having an issue.
I ordered an omelete, and the waitress asked if I want home fries. I assumed it came with the meal since she asked, and there's photos that show the meal together.
I then asked if I could have some spinach added to my meal.
I had zero clue she was charging me 4 or 5 dollars extra for home fries. I wouldn't of gotten them if I knew that.
I also think it's a little crazy to charge 3 dollars for spinach added to an omelete. I totally understand charging but 3 dollars for a handful of spinach?
And then 25 cents for my box to go? Also not being told that was extra.
My simple meal went from 12 dollars plus coffee to 26 dollars and then a tip.
The same thing happen to my friend. It even said her meal came with a salad and the waitress asked and when the bill came again she was charged for something we were not told was not apart of the meal.
Usually those things come in a meal. If not when the waitress asks those questions maybe she needs to announce that it's extra. Because our meals would of been drastically different if we knew.
I shouldn't have to pay 30 dollars for a veggie omelete, home fries and coffee.
We felt scammed honestly. It made the experience way less enjoyable.
The waitress was very nice and that's why I didn't say anything when we checked out.
Again. I have no problem paying extra when I know I'm paying. A box of spinach from the store is like 3 dollars, why are you charging me 3 dollars for a handful of spinach? That's just insane. And then 25 cents for a box? It's not alot of money but it's the whole concept of it. If I don't pay you more money I can't even take my food home.
Please please please announce when something isn't included in a meal. Every restaurant says the same when you order a meal. Do you want this or that, this or that and it's all included in the price. If it isn't they inform you.
For all my experiences here's so far I'm giving them a 3 out of 5 but honestly it's more closer to 2.5
Food is great. Never complain about that. Service is iffy and can go either...
Read moreI normally NEVER leave bad reviews but If I could leave a 0 stars I would. It was my first time at this cafe after a friend suggested their large portions and good food however I had the complete opposite experience. At first the server was very kind and seemed to be very helpful but after I received my food I found pieces of fried wood in my French fries and when I mentioned it she said it was “burnt frying oil?” I brushed it off and decided to still give them the benefit of the doubt. The food was very bland and tasted like something was drenched in vinegar. I still didn’t complain because the way everything was handled when I mentioned the wood she got very defensive so I didn’t think anything would come of bringing issues to their knowledge more. Once I received my check I noticed they charged me for anything and everything they could! I got the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer and they charged me for the sauce, when I assumed it would come with something? Maybe that’s my bad? For my meal I got the tuna sandwich platter which was wrong when it came out(on the menu it stated that it came in pita bread with fries and I could add coleslaw for a .75 up charge) so I did that. Instead of charging me the .75 up charge she charged me $4 for the fries! My friend got the chilli dogs with fries and also got charged for the onions and cheese when she only got chili on her hotdogs. When asked about the bill she stated that “WHEN YOU HAVE THE FOOD TOUCH YOUR TABLE WE CANT FIX ANYTHING BECAUSE OF COVID?” Along with other little charges here and there the total up charge was $10 more than the original bill. I was extremely upset. When I came up to the counter to pay she said “you do realize when you come to restaurants you have to pay for things right?” I expressed that I am a server and I have never heard of their policy’s and that I 100% understand that you have to pay. She said that her boss is the one who makes the policy’s. And I said “he needs to know that’s now how you run a business” I left very unhappy and will never return. Overpriced and underwhelming. They also charge an almost $2 service fee if you use card. I used cash but I could imagine that’s extremely inconvenient. I understand everyone needs to make money but it seems very scammish in my opinion. They did take my fries off but it came with a TON of...
Read moreWow i love this place good food huge portions and great staff..... haven't been here since covid I will tell you that the waitress I had was very good she was on her job her name was Savannah and she was very nice she had plenty of time to set and listen to us as well as tending to other tables as she also brought food on the timely manner but I will tell you this the bill was absolutely ridiculous for four meals they were not worth $84 the hash was not cooked on the inside it was mushy I honestly was very disappointed in this time the food quality has went down the portions are not like they used to be the pancakes used to come with with topping and the food just was not worth it I was so disappointed because I love Nicks and I met a few girlfriends there this morning like I said the service was excellent and I even got a hug from the waitress before she left she was such a sweet young girl and she works very hard but I will tell you whoever's cooking they are not the same people that used to cook. I'm not Downing anyone I don't do that on Google unless the service is very bad in the food is not edible but I will say that presentation was terrible and the price of the food was absolutely outrageous it was $84 and it was not worth $84 the only thing that I can say did not change is the biscuits and gravy but it did not have any salt or pepper and I don't use any salt in my food but I actually had to salt their food. Overall I was how you that I probably won't be visiting for a while hopefully they will step it up and get it together thank you again Savannah for your kind service and we had a...
