Chili's Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Tomball

Most Chili’s restaurants are much the same, pretty good but a couple of notches below great. Given Chili’s relatively low prices, they generally provide decent value for the money you will spend feeding your family in their restaurants.

This Chili’s at 14006 FM 2920 in Tomball is no exception. The service is mostly friendly, the serving sizes are ample and the food is generally simple but tasty.

But we almost left this Chili’s without ever being seated. They were not busy and there were plenty of empty tables when we arrived. We asked for a table and specified that we did not want to be seated in a booth. The hostess informed us that there were no tables available.

This baffled me since I could easily see many empty tables. When I pointed to the empty tables and said any of those would do just fine, the hostess said that section was closed.

I never met a hostess who was on such an intense “power trip,” but I guess there is a first time for everything.

Her explanation didn’t make any sense to me because those tables were at most 5 steps away from the booth where she proposed to seat us instead.

I told the hostess that if it was too inconvenient for them to seat us at one of the empty tables nearby, we would happily go eat somewhere else.

The hostess grudgingly sat us where we wanted to be seated, but it was obvious that she resented having her authority challenged.

Not more than 10 minutes after we were seated, the section that the hostess said was “closed” was quickly filling up with customers.

Worst chilis I have ever been to! When we moved to tomball a year ago the service was actually pretty decent as well as the food. Since then, the service has gotten worse and worse every time we go in and the food portions and quality continue to degrade! All the good servers they used to have are gone now and it's a bunch of oblivious kids who just stand around and hang out in the corner of the bar and chat with each other while ignoring the customers and placing the wrong orders! The girl didn't even bother to ask us if we wanted take out boxes and bags when we had over half a plate of food and obviously weren't eating anymore. Plus they stopped letting you smoke inside at the bar which really makes it not worth it anymore! Plus the beer they served was pretty much room temp! And honestly I'm sort of worried what they fed me because I felt really nauseous after eating there and have never felt that way before tonight! Needless to say that we will never be going back there or probably to any chilis ever, since on top of this terrible service and food, chilis now wants to play politics and alienate half of Americans! Im done with chilis and mad I wasted 80 bucks tonight! Oh yeah and almost forgot to write that when I went into the woman's bathroom it was DISGUSTING!!! There was blood all over the bathroom stall door like a girl had had her period and grabbed the door and the staff never bothered to clean it! The floor, sinks and toilets were dirty and the bathroom stunk! I felt uncomfortable sitting on the toilet it was so gross! I wouldn't suggest doing business...

Came here on March 26th with family. The service we received was horrible. The server we were given acted as if she didn't want to wait on us for some odd reason. Not going to point the obvious reason but I'm pretty sure she judged us on whether we were going to tip or not. Instead of making a scene or to continue to be uncomfortable I told the hostess I would like a new server. We went to a different section under the impression we were going to receive a new server but no we received the same server. She had to know she was wrong for how she treated because her whole demeanor changed. I've lived here for almost 13 years and never have I ever felt so out of place in my life before. We had extra items on our ticket that we never order. Yes, it was corrected but had we not looked at the ticket thoroughly we would've never known. I've been to plenty of Chili's and everyone has always been nice but I cannot go to this one ever again. I've been a server in my younger years and always treated my guests with the upmost respect no matter how they were dressed, looked like or skin color. I can't really say if the food was good or not because my focus was mainly how we were treated. She spent more time at her other tables than us. Even with that experience she was still tipped.
