In the Tomball area and wanted a great burger, but couldn't even find a parking spot at Mel's. What to do? What to do? Let's ask Google! Ron's Hamburgers and Chili? Never heard of it. Let's check it out. My boy and I found a parking spot nearby. The place is in a strip center that houses several eateries, and the ghost of several failed eateries too.
You walk in, seat yourself, and look at the ample menu of goodies. I ordered the Sausage Chile Burger (Double) and my Son ordered the Cheeseburger. We decided to split an order of chili cheese fries, which was a good call as everything is large portions here.
The fries came first and they were piping hot and really tasty. Chili isn't too sweet or full of beans (just in case your worried about blowing gas all day afterwards). Not necessarily the greatest chili cheese fries ever, but really respectable. Would order em again. I do wish I tried the regular fries, though. Next time;)
Our two dissapointments: No COKE, just Pepsi. No fresh jalepenos, only pickled. But, that's it as far as negatives go. Their burgers absolutely rock! We both agreed on that. Definitely moved above smash burger in our joint opinion, at least today.
The patty's are thin and flat, but they are cooked evenly and they just work. The sausage component is definitely something to try, it's really good and very different than anything else in the area. And, chili does make for. Sloppy meal if you attempt to pick up and eat what I got, but my boy was able to eat his ample Burger the way you're supposed to eat em. He did cut it in two, however.
Service was attentive and quite pleasant. Couldn't have asked for a better $10 burger to be honest. It was unique and worth every cent. Now, we can't wait to get back there to try some of their other goodies. This place is definitely 5-star if you want a good burger.

Read moreThe food is good, but if you are expecting anything resembling decent service, don't bother coming here. The wait staff is atrocious. From not knowing the menu, to completley abandoning their tables to go outside and take a break, leaving the customer to get their own refills, to inappropriate conversations with other wait staff about other customers that the customers in the restaurant can hear. And this is not the first time I've had a "sub-par" experience. "Well, why would you go back if you had such a bad experience" a lot of you will say. I give the benefit of one bad apple not ruining the whole bunch. But, multiple different servers with the same issue? Makes you question what kind of person keeps garbage on their staff, and question the entire restaurant as a whole. Next time I'm in need of a meal, I'll go out back, behind the restaurant in the dumpster. Food won't be as good, but it will be the only trash I'll have to...
Read moreI've always loved this place, I been coming here for about 2 years now. Recently just visited Ron's twice in one week, during Hurricane Harvey they stayed opened as long as they could. Sure they closed their doors earlier, but hey everyone is also entitled to their own safety. Anywho, we came here a few days ago to grab a bite to go because the Harvey was going to get us all that night and who knew how long we were going to go with out power or actual great food. So on our way out, the owner RON asked us if we had bread, we had mentioned to him that we went to almost every retail store looking for bread, and we couldn't seem to find one, he then gave us 2 loafs of bread. I can't say how much I appreciate his generosity and kindness to his friendly neighbors, aside that, the restaurants are very generous and welcoming, we've always loved coming here and we will continue to show our support.
