We've been going here for years. It first, the place was awesome. The kids behind the counter were friendly, happy, and enthusiastic. If we asked for a little extra sour cream or beans - not a problem! They'd pile it on.
About a year and a half to two years ago, ownership changed hands and they became kinda stingy. I'd ask for cheese or sour cream and it would be a tiny amount. I'd have to repeatedly ask for more to make sure there was enough, but I wouldn't be given a hard time are told I would be paying extra for it.
Turns out ownership changed hands again this past January. I know because I asked todau because it's gotten even worse. The restaurant is no longer staffed by local kids and the new staff seem sullen and no where near as enthusiastic as their past counterparts. I got one half hearted, "Welcome To Moe's" - I left out the "!" at the end because the employee just wasn't expressing it at all. The Scroogeness of the staff about the toppings has also been cranked up to max. For instance, my wife likes a scoop and a half of beans. The employee tried Telling me that there was 1 scoop allowed. I argued and got the half a scoop, but it shouldn't have even been an issue. Same with the sour cream. In a bowl filled with food, one tiny dollop isn't enough. I had to ask for more twice while getting a nasty look from the employee before I gave up. Those weren't the only two things I was given trouble for, but they were the worst... kinda like how this Moe's is right now with how they're treating...
Read moreI visited here for the first time recently as I live out of state and don’t have a Moe’s near me. Jorge put my food together and seemed eager to do a good job and was very accommodating and helpful. We got 2 burritos (adobo chicken, and one tofu) and some chips and queso. Pros: I really liked the adobo chicken, it was juicy and flavorful. The chipotle ranch was a stand out and enhanced the overall flavors of everything else. The white queso dip was really rich and yummy. I liked their “salsa bar” and being able to try the different offerings and take them with me in my to-go order. Cons: I feel like $35 for what I ordered was kind of insane. I live in Michigan and ate at a Moe’s in NY so I know things are generally more expensive there and wonder if they were in Michigan, maybe it’d be more reasonable. That aside, the portions are way too small for the price I paid. The burritos are literally half the size of Chipotles and even smaller than Qdoba. That was a bummer to notice when I got them home. That is my only complaint: the value for the money and the portions. As it is, I would rather spend that money at Chipotle and get something bigger. Chipotle’s ingredients just seem fresher and they give...
Read moreI went to Moe”s on 4/6/25. I have to say it might be one of the worst dining experiences I have ever seen. First off I walk in and it’s very dark only people eating were / employees. I go to the counter and am not greeted. There was a woman who never smiled or even can help explain the menu. I believe the woman didn’t speak English. Every question I asked was a blank stare. I finally gave up and just chose build your own Burrito.. we had to point to every thing and no questions were answered. Finally the manager came over and threw some of my extras in burrito. My son asked for the meal. I asked what does that include the guy said very short a tiny portion of Guacamole and a drink. We get our meals and received no forks or straws or any assistance. I went back to the counter twice to get things and just got a finger to where it should be. The store was dirty and the food on display did not look appetizing. Looked old and dry. That’s exactly how it tasted. For 42 bucks I could have gone to Taco Bell 4 times and had better food. Will never go...
