Updated on 04/13/22 They went up with the price almost 10x expect a meal that used to cost $90-$100 will cost now $140 - $150 for the same amount of portions. And to add salt to the wounds, the portion size shrink as well, for instance the pulled beef brisket used to be as the pictures from this review (which was over a year ago and boy was it good the bun was big and delicious it was even hard to bite in for some people at once, oh and you used to be able to get a dressing on the side) now the pulled beef is placed hidden under the bun hidden not alot, the bun itself is way smaller, (I'm referring to there most expensive burger $27)at least give it in a smaller plate so it should still look decent don't bring it out in the same big plates and it should look small, you used to able to get more then the current 4 dressing per table rule, and in group of more than 2 people good luck figuring this out, I used to be at Mike's at least once a month and sometimes even more often, but now It's not worth the travel till Mike's, the portion is way smaller then it used to be and the prices are up like crazy, I don't think that I'll be back pretty soon... It's a pity to pay for something that used to be to the expensive side but not to expensive, to being super Manhattan overpriced and it's not even similar to a Manhattan fancy Steak House, it's some burger restaurants on the 3rd floor in Palisades mall maybe they have good food but for the price there's better locations and please don't blame the price increase because it's a kosher establishment and it's expensive to be a kosher we all know that in most cases it's not true.
It's not like I'm upset with the staff they where excellent it's simple the fact that I don't feel like you are getting your...
Read moreHad a great experience at Mike's Burgers tonight and feel the need to share. We don't keep kosher, but my sister visiting from out of town does, so we decided to check out Mike's at the mall. Reviews suggested quality food, good ambiance, and less of the intensely homogeneous crowd you might find in other Rockland County kosher eateries, and I'm happy to say that all of this turned out to be true. If you're not used to kosher prices, you'll likely encounter some sticker shock looking at the menu. There's a solid 20-30% premium over prices at Chili's or The Yardhouse across the mall hallway, but that's standard for kosher. The food was absolutely delicious and well portioned, and I definitely felt like we got our money's worth. Food for 3 adults and 2 kids came out to $120 before tip (no alcohol) and we all left with full stomachs. The fries were perfect, as was the pastrami burger and steak sandwich. The chicken tenders had a homemade feel, which was unexpected but still delicious. The only item we didn't love was the hummus, but it was still pretty decent. The menu was super broad, and I love that you're asked to customize the topping and sauces to your liking. The atmosphere was great as well. Despite being in the mall, the stone walls and Edison bulbs give a great vibe and you feel insulated from the hustle and bustle of shoppers. There's plenty of space between tables, and despite a number of young kids about (including my own), it still felt like an upscale dining experience, at least in the "outdoor" section. Kudos to the management and staff for creating such a great kosher option outside of the Monsey area and making it so delicious as well. It's in the upper tier of restaurants in the mall, and I'd return even without a...
Read moreReally good food, steak super juicy. We had a problem with temperature though, asked for medium rare and it looked like it came out the slaughterhouse when we cut it open. If it came out the right temperature initially this would have been perfect. Sides awesome, had rice pilaf and green beans. Crispy beans and well cooked inside. Rice pilaf had nice seasoning and again, really well cooked. Coleslaw also good, old school deli style and tasty.
So the 4th floor of mall was hot, ac couldnt keep up with outside, so outdoor seating was much warmer than inside where their ACs did a great job keeping inside dining room comfortable and cool. Very loud inside, like 6-7 birthday cake celebrations within our hour and a half or so there. To us, that was good cause we had a loud baby, and his noise got drowned out.
Server was awesome, very kind and good service, but these guys were so packed and busy that when we asked for the meat to be heated up more, another server just gave us the stiff hand and when we finally got service it took forever. So it was a mixed bag but overall the food initially came out fast and we were happy initially. Had there been no food temperature issues to begin with, this would have been a perfect meal for us.
No cheese or pork in here as it is kosher. Still though, the burger was great and the bun was super chewy which was nice. Out of all the options at the mall, this is tops for us and we would come back.
Ps. We laughed at ourselves at first for ordering a ribeye in a mall, but we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the meat! Pps. Tons of large parties. Couples can get in much faster,...
