Tredici is a trendy and upscale little spot. What I donât understand is why Bronxville needed a 4th Italian restaurant when there is a great need for diversity in dining. While the previous restaurant in this location wasnât very good at least it served a cuisine unavailable elsewhere. Pros: The staff is very attentive and the service is impeccable. The interior has been tricked out nicely and the bar can mix up whatever potion you desire. Cons: Itâs loud. Really loud. They should have considered some acoustic tiling or whatever but to me the decibel level a deal breaker. I jokingly asked the server if he could read lips. And really, this was not a joke. The food is, well, just OK. Of the 4 Italian restaurants in town I would rank Tredici third overall. We have dined here twice and we determined that the small plates are generally very good but the entrees are lacking. I had what the menus describes as âthe best in the cityâ veal and then next time had the Lobster ravioli. The veal is better at Rosies and frankly itâs better at all of the other 3 Italian restaurants. Itâs the âleast bestâ in the city. The Lobster Ravioli was overly rich and and kind of blah. My wife has had the roast chicken which she loved and then she had the linguine with clams which she said was mediocre. Finally, itâs too expensive for what you get. A glass of wine or prosecco shouldnât cost $15 nor should a mixed drink using house liquor. The tabs, both times we went, were about 15-20% higher than Rosies or Scalini and double that...
Read moreI've been looking forward to coming to this restaurant for a long time. We wanted to celebrate Valentine's Day early and go to a nice place. We picked this restaurant because it's a Michelin cited restaurant and we're told the food was very good.
When we got there only a few tables were taken, and they gave us a tiny little table in the back corner, so we asked for a more open till table and they did kindly put us there.
The Restaurant is not that big , maybe 15 tables inside, and it's quite dark. Dark to the point you can't see the menu or the food you're eating. I don't love the decor which was kind of eclectic and kooky. they do have a very full and beautiful bar for people to eat. Our waiter came over and asked for our order, he looked like he was in high school. As I looked around most of the wait staff looked extremely young. I understand COVID made it difficult to find staff but at a fine restaurant this it is unfortunate.
We ordered drinks and looked at the menu. It's a good menu with several interesting appetizers. The one thing I noticed was there's no prices on any of the items in the specials. I found this annoying. Anyways we ordered our appetizer, we shared a very delicious plate of calamari. For the entrees my wife got the veal scallopini with a side of spaghetti and I got the view chop. Both were delicious.
When we looked at the dessert menu, again there were no prices. I find this very unpleasant. Not that there's anything there I can't afford but I like to know what things...
Read moreHad high hopes for this location but was thoroughly disappointed. Although the bartender was fantastic, her attention to detail was lacking. The cloth place setting put in front of me was so dirty, its hard to believe it was given to someone. Ordered 3 app, shrimp app - fantastic, meatball app - overcooked(meat was tough) and tomato sauce was very salty(and I like salt.) Crab cake app - crab cake was delicious and delicate, unfortunately the coleslaw served with the crabcake was literally unwashed and had an earthy taste.
The 2 pasta dishes ordered were the Gnocci Bolognese and Kobe Beef Ravioli. Gnocci Bolognese was ok, again the tomato sauce was very salt and also did not taste like a proper bolognese sauce. It was missing wine. The Kobe Beef Ravioli had amazing flavor but the ravioli was unfortunately undercooked. The ends of the ravioli were borderline raw, just past Aldenté.
The highlights of the evening were the drinks witch were poured to perfection, Casamigos/ Club lemon/lime and the Iceling cocktail.
Out of all the food the White Chocolate Panna Cotta for dessert was the best.
I do not normally leave reviews this harsh but for a bill of 200+ dollars before tip, the kitchen staff should be embarrassed to be charging 18+ dollars an app and 27+ for pasta dishes with so many...
