Can't believe I'm writing a quick blurb about this place as my wife and I vowed never to take our kids to one of these. Our daughter was away at a friend's for a sleepover and our younger son was feeling a bit lonely. On a whim my wife suggested we just get him out and let him play around with some games (it was raining out). Figuring that at worst our kid would get to run about and be happy we went ahead with it.
First I'll say that the "quality" of other parents & their kids that were here (on a whole, not all of them, but a serious majority of them) is extremely low. We're talking people that look like they moonlight as gang-bangers & pole dancers on the weekends, and likely the weekdays too. Their children too unfortunately followed suit - very undisciplined in even the most basic ways. Failure to be able to wait their turn, share, speak correctly or even to generally be civil. We're talking on several occasions a couple of kids of about 6 or 7 just ran up and grabbed the joystick my son was playing on while he was in the middle of a game. Their parents just watch on while they smooch each other up a little too much for public. WTH? Anyhow, enough on the type of clientele.
This place needs a good scrubbing, everywhere. It's exactly why we wanted to avoid ChuckeCheese to begin with. The "games" are really just gambling for kids. 95% or more of them are games of chance. I think I was expected far more true arcade style games. No, instead you have virtually wall-to-wall "games" that you attempt to stop a spinning object, push a coin, match a swing arm, type games in an attempt to get as many tickets you can. Sad, sad, sad. Thankfully my child was just very happy to get a nice little plastic lizard. He's 4, and still very excited by "getting something." However this is definitely NOT something I want to reinforce with him. It's akin to outright gambling. Blinky lights, ting-tang gleeful sounds; the very same stimulation methods scientifically proven to encourage people in casinos to spend more and feel like they are winning.
This was a one-off thing for us. Overall I'm seriously disappointed. Not because I didn't know what I was getting into, but because I'd hoped in the decades that have passed since I last stepped foot in a ChuckECheese that they would have made some serious improvements on all fronts. Nope - same 'ol scummy place you're better off...
Read morejust moved to the area this weekend. last night was the first night in our house and we wanted to see the area and have a break and let the kids go wild for a little bit. this was the worst experience I have ever had at Chuck’s cheese. the entire place smelled like weed, service was abysmal from all the stoned employees, and for a personal pizza and 2 salads with a drink it cost us $48! wife and I waited 15 minutes when we walked in the door standing at the counter and the attendant smelled so much like weed and was so high he tried to serve the guests who were standing behind us. our sons pizza took 35 minutes to cook. and we had to track down and ask one of their stoned attendance anytime we needed anything because they had no napkins and no silverware anywhere. I’m sorry but when I think of Chucky cheese I think fun clean and safe. not smells like cypress hill concert and the staff is no where to be found getting stoned with every table being dirty we had to clean out own dirty table and a pizza takes 35 minutes. The attendants were so high they literally screwed up every salad dressing label spoon on...
Read moreDisappointed in the addition of the trampoline area and unfortunately we won't be returning to chuck e cheese here or the new Delaware location.
The best part of coming there was that my small children could do anything they wanted, play whatever they wanted, they had an entire space with unlimited access for an hour (we always did the 60 minute unlimited play). Now with the new fun passes I figured we'd go way more often BUT now the locations have a soft play area and/or trampolines in the middle of the place that are NOT included in any arcade passes or fun passes. Of course your kids are going to want to play in the trampolines or ninja course areas and especially young kids - so what can you do? Either constantly try to keep your kids away or pay an extra fee to use them. The ninja course at Delaware is almost as expensive as Billy bees...basically you now have to pay the price of two full experiences crammed into one space. Too expensive, we will just go to Billy bees for that kind of play and find another place when we want to...
