I have been here before about 2 years ago and it was absolutely spot on. But on this lazy Sunday in August - it was the worst. The waitress had a face when we came in. The chef in the back motioned to us to sit anywhere. When they told her we were sitting there she had an attitude and had another waiter come to us. (Don’t come to work if you are having a day— and you can’t attend to customers) your establishment or not. The waiter tried his best.
The complimentary bread that came wasn’t even warm…. We ordered a pie, half plain and the half onions and mushrooms. The cheese on the pizza …I’m not sure what it was but it was so gooey . (When but in the fridge the next day it was so bad) Mozzarella I’ve had at other brick pizza oven establishments were so much better. The pizza was also visibly burnt. Calamari was great, the clams and stuffed mushrooms needed more flavor and was burnt— a little crisp is okay but come on … I understand that we were the only family in the restaurant at the time BUT pay attention not to BURN food.
No other diners were in the establishment but us… so pay attention. Please save your money for other brick oven...
Read moreI ordered shrimp "Zi Pepe" asking the waiter before I ordered what the dish was because the name isn't part of traditional Italian Cuisine. They told me it was Shrimp Scampi. When I was served the food it didn't look like scampi so I tried it. It was not scampi no garlic at all, no lemon, no butter... It didn't taste to good honestly or I would have just ate it. It was bland as can be and had a light pinkish sauce with a few chopped onions. I talked to the manager figuring the waiter told me the wrong thing.. But she said its our version of scampi..I was surprised to hear that because its very miss leading. It doesn't have any of the main ingredients that makes "Scampi" traditionally scampi. (Its scampi or its not!) She was very short and seemed annoyed. Asked well what would you like... Kind of obvious I wanted shrimp scampi but rather than schooling her on Italian cuisine or starting an argument I ordered the the white clam sauce over linguini. Read moreI went tonight with my friend and had a very interesting experience. Our server (maybe the owner too) continuously made rude comments towards me. Before we even sat down he said “where are you from mars?” I said “what?”… he said “because you're looking up at the sky.” l was actually telling my friend that the ceiling looked really nice. Then he proceeded to make comments as we ordered. When l asked for my pasta on the side he again asked me where l was from and l said lm from here he said ya that makes sense and huffed and walked away. I was nothing but polite to this man and have no idea why he continuously felt the need to make rude comments towards me but it definitely does not make me want to go back. It made my friend confused and uncomfortable as well. The food was great but not worth the berating. Maybe just a bad attempt at trying to be funny but he definitely missed the mark…repeatedly. Dont think I will be back...
