TACO EL CHINGÓN (Huntington) — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

The first time I ate here, everything was delicious, but now I’m extremely disappointed. I’m pregnant and had a huge craving for crunchy tacos so I got the combo from here that comes with rice and beans. When I picked it up, the tacos were stuffed in the same container as the rice in beans so the taco shells were extremely soggy at that point and everything was falling apart. They were also supposed to come with a side of sour cream and didn’t. The beef rib in the taco was extremely dry with no flavor and the rice and beans had no seasoning either. I also asked over the phone if they had mexican glass bottle coke which he told me yes, they do, and instead got a regular coke that I can’t drink because I’m pregnant and avoiding corn syrup. Overall I am really frustrated and mad I ordered over the phone because I can’t even get a refund like you can on the food delivery apps. Amazing authentic Mexican food on Long Island! So glad this place opened up in the area. A recent trip to Mexico enlightened us to what real Mexican food is like. And we craved it. The food at Taco El Chingon fit the bill perfectly. We got two birria quesadillas and one torta cubana (not pictured here). Everything was mouth-wateringly good with generous portions. Nice corner spot with parking, place did feel like home and clean. Taste test was present upon request. However, 2 stars off because the meat, pork, and chicken was pre-cooked and not hot as if they just made it... you can't have a sign that says made to order, but meat and chicken was tough and chewy to eat... wasn't soft at all warm or hot.
