Desiato's Deli & Subs — Restaurant in Town of Henrietta

Every sub restaurant I've ever been to I base my judgments on one thing and one thing only. How good the meatball sub is. It's one thing to slap some deli meats together, but with a meatball sub you have to have meat that is tender and juicy, and a sauce that compliments this, then you get to try out the cheeses. Altogether I got a meatball sub here today with provolone and parm. I've been to many sub shops, Pickle Nick's before they shut down, subway, Jreck Subs, several pizza joints, Dibellas, Wegmans, Hoagies. List goes on, and if a meatball sub falls flat I won't be coming back there.

Desiato's didn't disappoint I would dare say that it was definitely in my top 3 favorite meatballs subs I've ever had in Rochester. The shop is kind of tucked away on East Henrietta road and when you walk into the place I will say the decor doesn't scream anything special, but believe me when I say this place is amazing. My fiance got a chicken tender sub and I took a bite and it was amazing and this was AFTER it had been warmed up in the microwave at home for leftovers, I can only imagine what it tasted like when she got to eat it fresh this morning. They cooked it fresh when I ordered it for her which I highly appreciate, so refreshing to see a business that cares and doesn't just throw something into a toaster oven.

Staff was also very friendly and on top of things.

If you haven't had a chance to check this place out or just drive by it but have never gone in, please give it a try. Can't tell you how many times I've driven past this place but never actually went in!

Will definitely be coming back, and their menu is going to stay up...

I tried Desiato's on two different occasions when I was in the area. The first time it was ok, but some of my meatballs were rubbery and tough to eat- which was really strange to have. Despite my first bad experience, I thought I'd give them one more try because the reviews looked good and I thought maybe I just got a bad order. The second time I ordered the same sub, but this time the sauce was so bland and runny it was disgusting. It tasted like I was like eating spaghetti-o's sauce and it was incredibly bland, runny, and very unappetizing. The meatballs didn't taste right on the second order either. Unfortunately one of the worst meatball subs I've had in a long time. The staff were very nice in person and on the phone, but the sub was just awful, I had a really hard time...

My husband and I stopped here for an easy sub dinner after a long week and although the hot grill was down and we could only get cold subs, we were not disappointed. Staff was extremely friendly, attentive, and old school. Two young boys were enjoying a chicken finger dinner and wanted to buy a pop, the owner(?)gave it to them for free and on top of checking me and my husband out, he gave us two free cookies. I’m currently writing this while enjoying the cookie but I must say the sub I got at Desiatos this evening was one of the best. The whole wheat sub is to die for and it is so refreshing these days to see a smiling face behind the counter. Thank you Desiatos for an amazing meal. I can’t wait to try a hot sub! We will...
