[Update 2022-10-28] I wanted pizza tonight and unfortunately the Pizza Stop (100% good pies for me so far) over on Monroe Ave was closed so I decided to give Joe's another chance.
It was a mistake and one I'll not commit again. At current count we're at 6 of the last 7 pizza being inedible. I looked at the top of this one and it looked fine. I should have checked the bottom before paying.
Top was well done, bottom was burnt.
They looked moderately busy but I didn't see a stack of pizzas on top of the oven and there were only a couple of other people picking up pies while I was there. Being busy isn't an excuse to serve burnt food but they didn't even have that tonight.
Maybe I am the only one getting bad/burnt pizza but from how not busy they were on a Friday night I'm kind of guessing I'm not.
I'm sorry Joe. I'll always treasure all the years where you gave me some of the best pizza I've ever had. I told you back in May that you had a quality issue and gave you time to address it. But after throwing away six $30 pies I'm calling it quits. No more chances.
I've added a couple photos from tonight's pizza...
[Original review 2022-May] I'm so sad... I've been eating pizza from Joe's Brooklyn since they opened in Henrietta. They instantly became my favorite pizza place. On a good day I still get an excellent pizza there but I've been getting far more mediocre or bad pizza than good. Under cooked pizza or like todays pizza somehow both burnt and soggy.
My double order of garlic knots had six knots but one of them was a runt. It's the kind of thing that you throw in as an extra not try to pass off as what should be expected.
I don't buy $10 pizza because what I want is good pizza and you cannot make a good pizza on the cheap. However, over $30 for a burnt pie and an order of garlic knots that is short one isn't what I want either. Accidents happen, food gets burnt; however. a good restaurant doesn't serve substandard food at premium prices. Quality control has really slipped.
When it's cooked properly it is a spectacular pizza. Great tasting crust, great sauce... If you want great pizza, go to Joes at lunch time and get a couple of slices. The pies are all fresh and you can see the pizza you're getting...
Read moreCalled over the phone to make an XXL pizza and was told 40 minutes. 40 minutes later, I came in to pick the order up and only one person working and he was a complete mess. He hadn't started the order yet but then agreed to start then. Honestly, I felt like he might’ve been on drugs. He obviously had no idea how to make pizzas or do anything, he ended up forgetting to add pepperoni so it ended up being a cheese pizza with which I could see that the crust had a ton of holes on the bottom before he placed it in the oven. I watched him then start to blow on the pizza after putting it in which I was a bit unsure about. Said he worked here for a month but then a year and a half. Then said he was only at this 3 times so far and worked his way up from dishwasher. About twenty minutes later, he checks the pizza (after having checked it SEVERAL times before this point) and admits that he messed the pizza up and that I could either wait for him to make another or give me a refund. I am no Karen but at this point after waiting over an hour and watching how much of a mess this employee was, I did ask if I could speak to a manager. He then snapped at me and told me he was “second” to managerial level and not to “disrespect” him. After being super patient and understanding, I couldn’t believe it. I’ve been coming to Joe's Brooklyn for years. If this is who is running things, I will...
Read moreThis location is not the greatest. I went there yesterday ordered two pizzas roughly around 130$. Which seem excessive however I do food reviews and I don't mind giving places business. However this place the customer service was a turn off. The girl at the counter acted like we were nothing her by simply placing a order. (Which is odd considering that's what you do with a cashier). The pizza had zero flavor the pulled pork BBQ just tasted like it had a overwhelming amount of spice to be BBQ sauce. The "mac&Cheese pizza just tasted like bland boiled noodles and maybe a hint of cheese. It was very one note and flat. Just to make sure i was not the only one I did other reviews with people and alot had the similar take on it. We had to clean our own table which is weird considering it was only one of ther person in the restaurant so you would assume "if you had time to lean you had time to clean" method would happen but it's been awhile since I've cooking in a kitchen so what do I know. I plan to try other locations trying different pizza's and letting you guys know. But this location about the bland food and terrible customer service is correct. Hopefully they do better but I will be checking other...
