I wanted to take a moment to write you and inform you of the HORRIBLE experience we had at your restaurant yesterday. We were seated by a younger hostess? I'm guessing who seemed lost in her job. After sitting for over 20 minutes and watching people who were seated after us receive drinks and appetizers i walked back to the hostess station and waited a couple minutes to be recognized I asked who our server was supposed to be as we were waiting over 20 minutes. She said I told her she must have not heard me I will get her. A waitress came by and said have you been helped yet I said no we have not she mumbled something and walked away. Another lady with black curly hair came to the table and said have you been wating long we told her yes over 20 min. She said sorry about that i can give you a free dessert i said no im diabetic and cant have dessert she said well we will come up with something and walked away. Never saw her again not even sure who she was. Finally a server came over and said how are you doing I responded ok how about yourself she said awesome I said well after almost 30 min of waiting were not but glad you are. She said sorry for that and asked what we wanted to drink. We said we were going to order everything as we have been wait forever. Our drinks were brought by someone else. Our appetizer was brought out and nothing said by the server. She had every opportunity to turn the situation around and did not. When she dropped the appetizer my girlfriends drink was empty and nothing was said she dropped the appetizer and left. She finally came back with the entrees. Dropped them and said oh would you like a pop and my girlfriend said no id like another drink. She rudely walked away. We had to flag down another girl in a red jacket to get butter and steak sauce because our waitress was nowhere to be found. She finally came back with the drink set it down and walked away. Didn't ask do you need anything else didn't ask can I guide you on cooking your foid nothing at all. Awhile later she walked by asked if I needed a box as I was still eating I said no I'm good I'm still eating she came back with a box and the check. Didn't ask if we wanted anything else at all. I paid the bill and left. This was the worst dining experience ever in my life.
I had sent this to the restaurant on 10-19-2024 and got a response from Cathy that read Kevin I am very sorry to hear about your experience yesterday. Thank you for letting us know so we can fix the problem. I want to send you a gift card and invite you back again. I will guarantee that you will have a much better experience. I was done when i reached out but i said ok MAYBE it was an off night and allowed Cathy to talk me into trying again but she failed just like everyone else there.

Read moreI’m happy to be able to provide the first review for Lockport’s new ‘Steak n Stone.’ We were anxious to try the fare here, especially since Lockport, with its fast-food gauntlet along Transit Rd., has little to offer in the way of trendier eateries.
The décor inside had elements that one might expect – a full bar running down one side with booths and tables along the other. Classy high backed booths and chairs were unfortunately paired next to a row of extremely fake looking bamboo with leaf shoots that were obviously glued on. Tacky and trying much too hard. Other furnishings were obtusely clashing, like the strange paintings of an idyllic log cabin in the woods that one might expect to find at a Bob Evans.
The hostess and waitress were thoroughly friendly, and although it took a little longer than normal to get waited on, we understood that their grand opening evening would have some kinks. We also had to excuse three things that we asked for that never came -- a spoon, extra spicy sauce and some hot sauce for the soup. The restaurant was full however, which was good to see.
My tuna sashimi roll was excellent, as was the tempura and shrimp rolls. A side salad had the traditional ginger dressing and was nice. The shrimp oodong also carried a nice flavor in the broth and the hearty noodles went down easy.
My main dish was a “combo” option of Strip steak and salmon, offered as a “pick two” along with chicken and shrimp potentials. On the menu, the choices were offered under the heading of Tempura / Teriyaki. When I informed the girl that I would like the salmon tempura-style and the steak teriyaki, I was informed that it was “not possible.” When I politely pressed as to why, she told us that the “computer” cannot ring it in that way. Disappointing.
The dish was not well prepared. I asked for the steak medium; it was presented medium-well and much closer to well, with only the hint of pink in one or two of the center slices. The salmon, which appeared to be two thin tail cuts as preferred to a single, thick cut from the center, was dry. Neither was seasoned with anything other than the overly-sweet teriyaki.
As we were finishing our meal, the “live band” came in and set up. Advertised as such, it was hardly a band, and certainly not “live.” A couple boys came in with a mixing table, a pair of overhead, colored lights and a computer and started playing house techno as if they were in Rumours nightclub at Clifton Hill. Completely out of place and distracting.
All told, we will be back, because the sashimi was very good and well prepared and plated. However, our return will be motivated more because of the lack of modish sit-down restaurants that are not frequented by primarily an older generation (i.e. Garlocks, Fieldstone, Shamus, etc.), not because we...
Read moreI wish I could give zero stars. DO NOT EAT HERE! After being told our wait would be 40 mins we sat in our car for an hour with no update. We went in to check and the lady acted like she forgot about us and started to scramble. She offered us a seat at the sushi bar and we explained we were waiting for a table. Finally after about 10 more minutes we were sat. It was about 10 more minutes before we were even approached by the waitress. I was trying to order a mojito but was told they were out of mint which was fine. We ordered 3 appetizers. For our entrees all three of us ordered Hibachi steak entrees which comes with miso soup and salad. After our appetizers came out our waitress came out with 2 salads and 1 miso soup. She said there were out of salad so we could get extra rice instead. After she walked about we assumed she was going to get more miso soup but she never did. She brought the entrees out 2 mins after the appetizers and I asked about Miso soup and she said “oh we are out of that too” the food was very good but we talked to server about how we hoped we could get one or two of the appetizers off the bill for our inconveniences. She said she would talk to the person in charge since the manager was not in. We explained everything again and it was nothing but excuses. He said “you didn’t make a reservation” which I understand but if the wait was longer they should have said so. People who came in 20 mins after us that asked to put there name on the list got sat and ate before we even got a table. When we asked about the appetizers he said he wouldn’t take them off because we ate them and that all he could do was give us 10% off the bill. After arguing back and forth he got very aggressive and would not help us out. After he took the 10% off, after tax being added it was only about 1.30 taken off the bill. We never got extra sides for the missing soup and salad. Just a tiny 10% off the bill. Terrible service and left feeling robbed. I...
